Gomez and Morticia. Evelyn and O'Connell from The Mummy(1999) are pretty much the only two straight couples I ship.

on another note, watched The Mummy (1999) the other day and I couldn’t help  feel like the O’Connells and the Addams (Addams Family Values (1993) would get on really well ya know? The O’Connells are basically the pastel adventure version of the Addams, surely they would just be vibin’ over tea and crumpets in an extremely haunted mansion having a ball of a time

The Mummy is one of my all time favorite movies, but it also ruined my life because now I believe true love can only be found if you’re fighting ancient supernatural beings along with a super hot partner with skills that complete your own… And that’s not a situation I find myself very often.

What if I wrote a The Mummy au where Booker takes Joe to see Nicky in prison to explain where the key came from and Nicky punches Booker in the mouth and then kisses Joe.

What if I did that.

there are layers to this, right

because on the one hand, you get Joe in his nightshirt getting thrown overboard by Nicky to save his life, the whole time Nicky’s wondering like, you are clearly a man capable of looking after himself, why didn’t you fight there? only to finally get to (the other hand) the “I’m a librarian!” speech, where Nicky has to realise that Joe’s spent his entire life being looked at as a brown face first, and then a man (strong; capable of fighting or labouring), and then finally somewhere way too far down the line, as an educated academic.

And Nicky realises in one breath, oh, he’s amazing actually and also oh, I’ve been the same kind of dick as everyone he’s ever met, it doesn’t matter that my angle was “but sexy??”

What if you did? I dare you. I double dare you.

With Spooky Season nearly in full swing, I saw this as a perfect excuse to finally do an application I’ve wanted to do forever, Frankenstein’s Monster, inspired by the 1931 classic.

I found this foam latex prosthetic forehead from Woochie FX and made a pair of neck bolts from wooden dowel wrapped in aluminum tape for that metallic finish.

The makeup was a combination of Kryolan watercolors, creams, and eyeshadows, and the costume was finished off with some sports padding to bulk me up, a black suit, zombie gloves and platform boots to give me a truly monstrous stature.

“I am… Dracula.”

To kick off the Halloween season, I’ve decided to channel my inner Bela Lugosi and do the iconic Count Dracula from the 1931 classic.

This was such fun to wear, as I’m a massive fan of vintage formal wear, and the makeup was one of the things I was looking forward to the most as well.

These photos were shot at the gates of Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, the perfect location for such a macabre character.

“I’m a survivor, I’m not gon’ give up, I’m not gon’ stop, oh

I’m gon’ work harder, I’m the survivor, I’m gonna make it, I will survive, keep on survivin’”

This quarantine has got me hungry for more adventure movies, and as such more adventure cosplays, so I figured I would get to work on Lara Croft, the ultimate adventure girl.

I had been planning this cosplay for quite a while and it was jump started when I found that wooden bow at the thrift store.
