31 face’s of Halloween.

A mighty spooky challenge to create 31 different face’s for each day of October. Here we go.

Day #1. Possession.

With Spooky Season nearly in full swing, I saw this as a perfect excuse to finally do an application I’ve wanted to do forever, Frankenstein’s Monster, inspired by the 1931 classic.

I found this foam latex prosthetic forehead from Woochie FX and made a pair of neck bolts from wooden dowel wrapped in aluminum tape for that metallic finish.

The makeup was a combination of Kryolan watercolors, creams, and eyeshadows, and the costume was finished off with some sports padding to bulk me up, a black suit, zombie gloves and platform boots to give me a truly monstrous stature.

“Hello Kiddies….”

This Cryptkeeper makeup was done for The Massacre, a 24 hour horror film marathon in Chicago, included in this years lineup was “Tales from the Crypt” from 1972.

This makeup was done using nothing more than old school out-of-the-kit techniques, namely cotton balls and latex to build up the facial features, as well as a custom bald cap and hair appliances.

This look was then painted using exclusively Kryolan Aquacolor Plus body paints.

Last night I had the chance to join Terror in the Aisles at the Davis Theater in Chicago for a screening of Nosferatu with live organ by Jay Warren.

The makeup features a bald cap made by me, foam nose prosthetic from Kryolan, latex ear tips by Woochie FX, as well as finger prosthetics by Woochie.

The whole head was painted with Kryolan Nebula airbrush paints.

The prosthetic was hand sculpted by me, and painted with the Kryolan Cream Color Circle in “Creature Feature” and Aquacolor Liquid.

Intense burn makeup done for the Intermediate Special Effects class at Kryolan.

The teeth are a prosthetic piece by Woochie FX.

Our creative team here at Kryolan City Chicago was given a task from corporate: Create a classic Halloween character with one of our palettes. For this challenge, I decided to use the Kryolan Cream Color Circle in “Creature Feature” to bring forth this “Creature from the Black Lagoon” inspired monster.

The prosthetic was sculpted, cast and painted by me using Kryolan liquid latex and painted with the Kryolan Cream Color Circle and Kryolan Aquacolor Liquid as a base.

This Creature was heavily inspired by both the Gill Man from Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Amphibian Man from The Shape of Water.
