Summary:
On Christmas Day 2015, Simon Snow didn’t walk out of the White Chapel alive.
But someone else did - The Insidious Humdrum. He’s not really sure what happened, but he knows that whatever it was has changed him from being the greatest threat the World of Mages has ever known to… something else.
Now the Mage is on the lam, Baz is on his aunt’s sofa, and the Humdrum is just trying to get by on his own in the big city.

Full disclosure, this was initially inspired by Roo’s Sword Of Mages tattoo au, because the brain rot is real with that body art symbolism. The idea of Baz being associated with florals fandom-wide led me to design a silly little tattoo of a bee for Simon, because pollination/symbiotic relationship/all that mushy stuff.
It’s the end of the school year and I’m a hot mess, so I submitted a general hashed out idea and an apology and got paired with @bazzybelle, who is an absolute gift and delight, and took this tiny snippet of words and just RAN with it in the best way.
Throughout the planning, we were weird, and then got weirder than usual (it’s our brand at this point I think), and then dragged our spouses into the mess by subjecting them to a bunch of bee related puns. And then into musicals. It was all downhill from there.
So please enjoy this delightful collaboration, along with song choices (you’ll see the two songs @bazzybelle used for the title and jokes, and the They Might Be Giants song that’s on Simon’s T-shirt- no one can convince me that that dweeb wouldn’t love TMBG).
I finished my shameless porn and then Rainbow went and dropped cake pockets and I have a brand to uphold. That being said, MALCOLM GRIMM is getting drawn in my comic and I’m having way too much fun drawing douchey farmer wear. I live in an ag town and Roo also has opinions and this could basically be a thesis now so… sorry Marta, you’re going to yell at me.
Here’s a bit more progress on this comic that is taking 6ever, which is 2 more than 4ever, and is making me cry every time.
It’s the end of the year and we are a dumpster fire in shambles, so the art is slow going.
I also have an incredibly terrible Yuuri on Ice pun I want to draw but it’s being a pain.
