Hello! Here’s another sequential based on the Simon Snow trilogy books by @rainbowrowell. This one is a scene from Wayward Son in Chapter 21 when Simon and Baz are messing around with foam swords at a renaissance fair during their trip to America.

Full disclosure, this was initially inspired by Roo’s Sword Of Mages tattoo au, because the brain rot is real with that body art symbolism. The idea of Baz being associated with florals fandom-wide led me to design a silly little tattoo of a bee for Simon, because pollination/symbiotic relationship/all that mushy stuff.
It’s the end of the school year and I’m a hot mess, so I submitted a general hashed out idea and an apology and got paired with @bazzybelle, who is an absolute gift and delight, and took this tiny snippet of words and just RAN with it in the best way.
Throughout the planning, we were weird, and then got weirder than usual (it’s our brand at this point I think), and then dragged our spouses into the mess by subjecting them to a bunch of bee related puns. And then into musicals. It was all downhill from there.
So please enjoy this delightful collaboration, along with song choices (you’ll see the two songs @bazzybelle used for the title and jokes, and the They Might Be Giants song that’s on Simon’s T-shirt- no one can convince me that that dweeb wouldn’t love TMBG).

So again, this trio of images has been rendered in a limited palette, each one illustrating a part of a day in Simon and Baz’s happy ending (which I REALLY HOPE THEY GET. *ahem*). The three-piece set is just my small way of saying, “Thanks for being here.” ❤️

As I mentioned last week, I’m working through a trio of post-canon happy-ending images titled “A Boy In My Arms” as a little thank-you to all you lovely folks who have joined me here on Tumblr since September. Each image is rendered with a limited palette, which has made these a lot of fun to complete.
Last week’s was “Sunrise,” and here is “Sunset.” (Next week: “Midnight.”)
In a weird act of cosmic synchronicity, my birthday landed on the very day that my Tumblr traversed 5,000 followers and my Twitter reached 1,000 followers. That said, being so honored to have so many of you watching my work, I felt it appropriate to celebrate with some fanart, as that is what brought most of you here.
This is the first in a 3-part series of Carry On-inspired images I’m calling “A Boy In My Arms.” They will depict scenes throughout a day of Simon and Baz’s happy ending.
This one is “Sunrise.” The next (to be posted May 11) is “Sunset” to be followed by “Midnight” (to be posted May 18).
