Heartstopper focuses primarily on high school rugby star Nick Nelson, played convincingly by breakout star Kit Connor, and his newfound infatuation with openly gay classmate Charlie Spring (Joe Locke). The Netflix show follows Nelson as he explores the many complicated milestones that come with discovering and coming to terms with one’s own sexuality.

In the sea of TV revivals and reboots on the market in 2022, very few have made quite the commercial and critical splash as iCarly, a continuation rather than a reboot of the beloved Nickelodeon comedy. We chatted with actor Stuart Martin (@stuart_martin_) about the success of his hit Netflix show Army of Thieves, as well as Miss Scarlet and The Duke’s upcoming second season.
Many actors who start out working on television or the stage take the leap into film, but few do it in as big a way as Stuart. After starring regularly on TV dramas like #Medici & #Jamestown, Martin made a huge splash in the wildly popular #ZackSnyder comedy heist caper Army of Thieves, which shortly after its worldwide release on @Netflix became the streaming service’s No.1 film in over 90 countries. Martin was also recently announced as part of the cast of the director’s upcoming sci-fi fantasy epic Rebel Moon, which is scheduled to begin filming this April.

“I struggle taking myself seriously a lot of the time, and I feel like songwriting is the only time when I really sit down and I’m calm and focused. But in real life, I’m just basically a clown.” That sentiment serves as the foundation for the bulk of the music of Cody Frost, one of the UK’s most unique rising young stars.
Honest and open about her struggles with ADHD since her pre-teen years, she attributes a newfound clarity as an artist to that diagnosis. “I think my diagnosis was so critical to learning who I am. When you get diagnosed with something like that, you kind of mourn the person you could have been, and I had to take time off to do that and come to terms with the fact that this is how I am.”

“Trying to record a record in a global pandemic was a strange situation for sure. We were working in a studio in Brussels when the lockdowns began and we made the decision after much deliberation to stay and work. It was hard in a way as there was no escape from the project. Even on days off we would just be in the studio. But that did mean that we could focus in on this piece of work in a way that we hadn’t been able to do before with our other records.”
Very few bands have been able to achieve quite the same level of success as British band Wolf Alice. They have headlined festivals, won the prestigious #MercuryPrize and numerous other awards, and recently celebrated 1st ever UK number 1 album “Blue Weekend” a thunderous odyssey that propelled the band to even further success.

“Growing up, I’ve always felt very existential and had moments where I felt very outside myself. During lockdown, living with my family again spending days on end in my room, I started feeling that again. It’s a scary feeling, but also amazing at the same time because it made me understand myself better. I wanted to make a body of work listeners could turn to if they’re also feeling lost.”
With the COVID-19 pandemic well into its second year, many Gen-Z music artists like newcomer Au/Ra have had to create an entirely new roadmap when it comes to innovation. “I think @DuranDuran’s greatest secret as to why we’re able to move with the times, is that we are so flexible. We’ve never tied ourselves down to one sound. We try to smash up whatever sound we made on the last record each time; we just wipe the board completely clean and start again,” stated #NickRhodes to @theuntitledmagazine.
