“I kind of felt that [Moiraine] called me. There’s a reason that these things come to you at a certain time and I felt there was a very strong — it was like a voice in my head that thought, ‘You have to listen to this. You have to do this one. I think it’s gonna teach you stuff,’ and it was something about the nature of channeling this woman who could harness the powers of the universe and I thought there was a dimension of this character that would be a teacher, be a guide. I mean, she is a guide in the show, but I thought she could be a guide to me, too.”
I’d love to do more film. Narratives that are heavily character-driven inspire me. I love Chloé Zhao’s “Nomadland.” I’d love to work with her and Terrence Malick and Martin Scorsese.

Nynaeve is unpredictable and can be perceived as being irrational and stubborn, yet she’s completely driven by her desire to protect and care for the people she loves. I think I’ve always understood her.
I was excited to play someone so flawed and real.
She’s human. She’s often wrong. She makes mistakes. I haven’t had the opportunity to play someone like her and to spend this much time with a character. It’s been amazing.
