As I promised before, here is the full colored version of my card: Three of Cups for @deathnotetarot I’ve been waiting to post this on Near’s birthday to be honest XD Now they have another reason to toast. And thank you so much again for the including me in this project *still can’t get over how sparkling everything is ƠvƠ*
I’m not sure if I’m picking up on the tail-end of Saturn retrograde, but today’s reading is all about delays. When perspective is expanded a bit, we can see delay as a form of stability: a time for pressure relief, and an exceptional opportunity to look at what it is that needs attention, other than our most ambitious desires. How could it be that delays are blessings in disguise? Most things that we feel are elusive and slowed down are simply gestating: waiting for our perspective to expand to the vibration of appreciation that’s needed to fully enjoy them, and vice versa. Fruit that is not ripe is hard, dull and flavorless. We cannot fully appreciate fruit that’s not “ready”, because it simply doesn’t appeal to our senses the way a nice ripe piece of fruit does.
Almost all things worth having involve their rumination phase, which is something that needs to take place. We put so much more meaning, feeling and thought into delays than we need to; we take them personally and it appears to slows us down even more. Another interesting thing I’m getting along with this reading today: there are plenty of times when what we want is delayed for the sake of other people, yet we often think from our perspective of “I want this and I want it now”. Obviously I’m guilty of this too, and have been for FOREVER (lol). Something I’ve been thinking about a lot, however, is that perhaps the delays present in my life are to the benefit of another’s timeline, or even several timelines outside of my own. How many people do I have the time to stop and connect with, and to try to help, while I wait for my most ambitious dreams to come to fruition? It’s already been many, so far.
It’s time to think of delays as what they really are: they are a perception, with the reality being that things will be given to us at the perfect moment, at a time when the highest good for everyone is enacted. It’s okay to feel heavy and weighed down by what hasn’t happened yet; this is a perfectly human way to look at what feels like the slowing of time around exactly what we want to obtain or accomplish. The message today is a gentle reminder that in perfect timing things will move with precision and love in mind, from the Universe. Thanks for reading!
This entire deck is made of 78 full watercolor paintings, and here’s one of my favorites! This trio of sweet pups bring so much joy.
The 3 of Cups is all about friendship and creative collaboration, and the dogs painted here match that meaning perfectly.
One of them was a huge influence in the rise of animal assisted therapy, partnering with his human to help with occupational rehabilitation! Another was a service dog, and helped his human publish a method of “DOGA” (a sort of dog-assisted yoga). The last pup is filled with such a deep and unconditional love, and is a freestyle dancer with her human.
On Kickstarter, there’s a tier where you can reserve an original painting. This is a beautiful way to bring these dog’s stories, love, and companionship into your life! Visit this link to see what’s available. (This painting is!)
my theory is that it’s for the three of cups- during the ratboys’ halloween telethon last year, lucy dacus talked about tarot and said that the three of cups is her favorite card, because it’s about how friendship is the highest form of love!
card meaning:
“The Three of Cups represents groups coming together to focus on a common emotional goal. People reach out emotionally to one another. It speaks of a sense of community, and can indicate the time to get more involved by helping. An inner passion for caring may be discovered, and energy put forth toward a goal will be positive and nurturing. It can also signal that this is the time to reach out if things have been particularly rough in the past. This card stands for all forms of support including formal organizations such as counseling or other social services. It’s important that when the need for support is recognized that action is taken”-Wikipedia
“In general, it is about spending quality time with people you cherish in your life. The three maidens represent your circle of friends who you turn to for love, compassion, and support when you need them the most. It can be old college buddies, colleagues at work, or people you have shared a special bond over the years.”-Labyrinthos
