Touya expected here a competition of who can do Endeavor’s techniques better (the war answered that question) to prove that the failure can outperform the masterpiece. Except, Shouto side-stepped that toxic framework their father gave them and developed 3 ultimate moves just to neutralize Touya’s heat and save him from self-destruction.
Like Mt Lady said - your ultimate moves symbolizes who you are - and Shouto in this fight hasn’t used a single technique of Endeavor. He showed with actions, and in the language Touya understands (through ultimate moves) what he is about and what he stands for.
basically imagine fuyumi+touya (gen ed) going to shiketsu high school in the same year as hawks (hero course)?? since ua is reserved for “successful” todorokis and we know hawks didn’t go to ua… so why not shiketsu??? some lowkey theories squeezed in here (touya and fuyumi being twins, dabi = touya, etc.) but bear with me I wanted to draw cute things OTL
