#travel
Thinking about being utterly insane and planning a trip to London for my birthday this year.
I plan to visit Thailand and Japan once I finish grad school as a gift to myself. Plus, while I know Japan is just starting to open back up, I’m hoping that the covid situation in those places (and everywhere else) will be easier to navigate by then. Also that my language skills are a bit better.
In England I won’t have to worry as much about a language barrier, so that makes travel automatically less stressful. Additionally, it checks visiting off my bucket list so that I’m not feeling torn between there and the Thailand/Japan trip when that time comes.
There are very specific places I wanna go, so I don’t think it would be difficult to plan it reasonably. And, the big reason why I’m even considering it is because they’re giving us an extra week off of work, and a “wellness stipend” that we’re allowed to spend however we like. It just seems like it would be a fun adventure, and spending 5ish days over there wouldn’t be over extending things. Plus, what a great way to end the summer semester and kick off the fall one!
I’d just have to get my friends to look after io while I was away.
It’s still under consideration atm, but I think I’d really like to do it if I can get everything worked out.
