Full clip of Luke Arnold reading Treasure Island by Robert Louise Stevenson for First Page Pajama Party, full bodied on!
Reading some piece of classic literature for the first time and gradually realising that the Muppet version is actually a pretty faithful adaptation never fully ceases to be a curious experience.
Long John Silver swashbuckles up to the counter and orders a piece of hard tack and some fish sticks.
The baristas don’t know how to explain to the pirate that this is perhaps not the fast-food franchise for him, so they just hand him all the cash from the register to avoid further swashbuckling.
He swashbuckles out the door and sails away under cover of darkness.

Treasure Island Edition, Chapter 12
“Magnus, that fourth wall is load bearing.”
“Well, of course the fourth wall of a structure helps to bear its load.”
The axe has “FUCK TREES!” carved into the handle.
“Well. That’s a bit on the nose.”
“The axe of Bunyan.”
GM: The ring is a spell-storing ring.
“Ring of power abusal.”
“Yeah, um, uh… In Blackest Day or Brightest Night… uh, watermelon, cantalope, yada yada… a superstitious and cowardly lot… with liberty and justice for all.”
“Sometimes the greatest treasure is the friends we make along the way. This is not one of those times.”
“That said I wish we had a cleric of a sea god at hand for this to perform proper burial rites.”
“We dump body into water; Ded calls scavengers?”
“That works too.”
Magnus does not mention that being turned into a gaudy, golden music box would probably be the crab’s idea of The Good Place.
“Tell them to enjoy them with our compliments, and that they have nothing to lose but their chains.”
“Should keep chains. Good weapon.”
“By all means, captain. I am tempted to ask for one of the captive slavers to use as an object lesson, but that would set a bad example for Melfina.”
“You do realize we killed a guy and stole his stuff?”
“Yeah but Melfina wasn’t here for that.”
“There was only one skipper,” Magnus says from a safe-ish distance, “and his name was Joe.”
“I think Joe’s a casino bouncer.”
“Ded thought Joe was penguin.”
“Have you never heard the legend of the cheese dip warrior?”
“I am not familiar no.”
“The lord of holy retribution on the wicked, who smelled of cheese dip. He sank any ship he set foot on, unless his canine companion was with him.”
Thunderchild shook his head. “Lyn’s a good egg, pardon the pun, as much as she tries to hide it. She’d not be in on anything sinister, I’d trust her with my life. Not my coin purse but definitely my life.”
“Cheats on Game Night. But brings snacks.”
“It seems our friend son the ship have run afoul of the Harpies.”
“Or worse, Sirens.”
“Or worse, Herpies!”
“Could be sea serpents… Serpies..”
“Let us head forth and unfuck the shit!”
“Always sad when you have to deal with a mutiny. So, who has dibs on Konk? Because I want to use Blaze to roast him for this and putting Melfina in danger.”
“No dibs, we’ll all have our turn.”
“Ded pee on his wooden leg.”
“Alright do we go in loud or quiet?”
“…. Quiet is an option….?”
GM OOC: Okay Dramatic Board Skill Checks.
Amber: *21* Amber allows the magic to flow through her, augmenting her legs and suddenly leaps onto the ship’s deck with a superhuman leap.
Janus: *27* Janus twirls and flings the crab claw, holding onto it as it goes flying to Mjolinir himself into the deck, then once the dust clears he sits on the claw, woodcutters axe in one hand as he taps the flat end in his hand.
Magnus: *21* By ladder, prestidigitation to make it seem the side of the boat has exploded into a wall of fire.
Ded: Ded scurries on deck and transforms into a giant viper. *13*
GM: You clumsily flop your way aboard.
Cookie: *6* Cookie just climbs the ladder on the side of the boat in a slow turtle like fashion.
MJ:
OOC: I love how half the party comes up in the most badass way possible and the others just kind of barely climb up.
OOC: See the hag? She’s huge, how did anyone miss her?
OOC: I was there 30 years ago when the courage of Men failed. I was there in theaters for the release of Highlander 2.
“Ded think Ded maybe go easy on stick.”
Treasure Island edition, Chapter 13
“Geese, Nature’s perfect killing machines.”
“Alright. You force me to alter the laws of thermodynamics!”
OOC: Bisque is back on the menu.
You take a chunk out of his carapace and the whole place smells delicious.
“GO FOR THE EYES WILSON!”
He does indeed go for the eyes.
“Woo I’m helping!”
“You know, we were coming back here to share with you a huge pile of treasure. We were gonna give you an honest share. But now you’re gonna go to Hell, with nothing but a penny, and a broken cigarette.”
GM OOC: Horrible Goose time.
The geese, sensing blood as natures greatest predator, attack the wounded harpy.
The Harpy screams as the Geese kick her ass.
“So O'brian, given this latest revelation, I assume the baby eating part of your name is literal?”
“…I would trade you to Asmodeus for a stale corn chip. and I am deathly allergic to corn. You guys remember that night Cookie served Corn Chowder. The chamber pot will never be the same.”
“The dueling Dichotics vs. the Shearing Shellfish. A rivalry old as time.”
“Ded is friend-shaped!”
“Damn you and your lemonade, O’Brian! It didn’t even have real lemons! It was probably babies!”
It looks as if you set off an m-80 in the seafood buffet.
OOC: NOW Bisque is back on the menu.
As Archie chops his way through the harpies, he is singing loudly.
“I’m a Lumberjack and I’m okay!”
“So help me, if it’s ‘bird is the word’, you die next.”
“WE DO HAVE SOME STANDARDS MAGNUS COME ON.”
The geese bathe in the blood of the guilty and innocent alike! But none here are innocent.
“Please tell me this is all the mutineers. I don’t want to start stress eating.”
Amber is repressing the urge to start singing “Don’t care now, hunt them down now.” This isn’t the time to bust out a musical number.
“… I might could convince some of the ship rats to help?”
“Otherwise, please consult with Mr. Punch for the benefits of Goonion membership. Of which I note, the only reason we cannot provide dental is that we do not have those facilities on-board.”
Dingo slips on a mask and produces a small hand drill.
“Dingo, we said no amateur dentistry after that incident with the seagull.”
“Don’t worry that iguana is fully certified.”
“Dingo, be nice until his sudden but inevitable betrayal.”
Magnus is currently measuring Morgan’s burnt skull as a potential hat or cup.
GM: You come to the conclusion that if you stuck it on a pole it would make an excellent back scratcher.
“Be careful Magnus, that’s the sort of thing gets you cursed.”
“If his curses are as clueless.. he might bless you by accident.”
OOC: You’re lucky MJ only deals weed or she’d have given him Meth to give haste.
OOC: I need you to understand I got As in Caculus and the abuse of order of operations is trigging me so bad.
