alright, this is me reading too much into stuff again
but
Five is the only one in these posters to not show the front of the suitcase - the stickers on his are on the side, differentiating him again, just like the absence of any hotel-related stickers does
okay so everyone has one sticker with a place on their suitcase in the new promo pictures - do they split up again? they could be places of birth, except that Lila’s doesn’t fit with the place S2 tells us she came from?
Luther - Stockholm (Sweden) -> the only other Swedish thing in the show have been the Ikea Mafia
Diego - Mexico -> David Castañeda is Mexican and was raised there, and he was assumed to be of Mexican descent by the employees of the asylum in the 60s
Allison - Cape Town (South Africa) -> I am blanking. I have no idea how Cape Town ties into Allison, except for the ties between the Civil Rights Movement she was involved in in the 60s, and the opposition to South African apartheid, but ????
Klaus - Pennsylvania (USA) -> the first stills had one where Five was in a car with a map of Pennsylvania, so maybe he is looking for Klaus? maybe they’re roadtripping together? who knows, not me
Five - Dublin (Ireland) -> met his younger but old-looking self in an Irish pub in S2
Viktor - Moscow (Russia) -> Russian first name; assumed to be a Russian spy in the 60s; appears to have learned at least some Russian at the academy
Lila - Berlin (Germany) -> S2 shows that at the time of her parents’ death, they were living in London, so either this is some new development or we’re getting new info on her background. it is the detail that throws a wrench into my theory that this might indicate where all the kiddos where miraculously born -> S3E4 and S3E7 both have German titles, KugelblitzandAuf Wiedersehen respectively - maybe part of the season plays out in Berlin?

there appear to be TWO kinds of hotel stickers, some for Hotel Oblivion (on the basis that the O is a different font from the following) and some for an as yet unknown Hotel Obsidian
Diego and Luther both have Hotel Oblivion stickers that only differ in colour
Klaus has a Hotel Obsidian sticker but with the Hotel Oblivion logo from Luther and Diego’s in the middle
Viktor has a Hotel Obsidian sticker with no reference to the Hotel Oblivion, instead seeming to have a tablet nicked straight from Night at the Museum on it
Lila has a straight-up Hotel Obsidian sticker with no reference to Hotel Oblivion
Allison has a sticker with the ‘O’ from the Hotel Oblivion logo, but nothing else, so that’s an odd one out

now I’m kinda hoping the suit is to this season’s promo material what the axe was to Season 2, i.e. a visual that got repeated ad nauseam in the promo material but only featured very little in the actual show. i want five to dress as garishly as possible.
i am INSTANTLY a million times more interested in the plot of the third season because i MUST know how five ended up in that situation and in that outfit. he’s back to his scribbly planning ways with the red sharpie? a map of pennsylvania? hiding in a car and obviously getting caught spying?? the cargo pants?? the flannel??? the fucking yellow-tinted sunglasses that look like he nicked them from klaus??? what is going on i NEED to know

Could she have rumored them all to dance? That would explain Diego’s crazy dancing wouldn’t it? And why they’re dancing in a battle like that in the first place?

Okay, so i still maintain my theory from waaaay back when the s2 finale dropped and it’s that daddy reginald saw all these umbrella fuckups who told him they didn’t stop the apocalypse and decided to switch them out with a newer better version. and because ben wasn’t there, he adopted him as well cuz he had no idea he was in the umbrella academy.
I love how all the promo stuff has been setting the sparrows up as bullying the poor, underdog umbrellas and then we get the trailer and it’s Viktor traumatising Marcus, Diego threatening Bens life and Five kicking Jayme’s ass
