I wanted to draw something cute and colourful and fun, so here’s some of the untamed ladies + summer fashion!
in case it’s not clear, L2R we have Wen Qing, Jiang Yanli, Qin Su, and Mianmian :)
so I had a vague idea for this modern AU nieyao meetcute comic when @guqin-and-flute first mentioned their ideas for the AU, but I didn’t really like anything I’d drawn for it and it just sort of languished in my WIP folder for months. aaaand then @guqin-and-fluteposted part one, and something went ding in my brain and I drew this entire fucking comic in one afternoon! go figure.
Yanli just wanted to have a cute morning-after with her boyfriend. Yanli did not deserve this. if Yanli’s little brothers don’t stop screaming she is going to rescind their soup privileges for a month.
happy mother’s day to all who celebrate it! @guqin-and-flute and I have had a couple conversations about parents in the Modern 3zun Raise A-Fu AU and we decided that the 3zun house would would have a set of shelves that acts as a sort of informal shrine for their mums (3zun all have Complicated relationships with their fathers, and they don’t know who A-Fu’s bio dad is).
on the top shelf we have a photo of the Nie Mamas with little Mingjue (and imminent Huaisang), as well as a shell and two candles.
on the second shelf there is a formal photo of Mama Lan, and a rough sketch of her face drawn by Xichen, alongside a gentian flower and some incense sticks in a pot.
on the third shelf is a set of four silly photobooth-style photos of Meng Shi and Meng Yao, with a little braided bracelet hanging on the frame, and a preserved sticky note written by Meng Shi that reads “will be back at eight ❤ love you xxx :)”. either side of the frame are tea lights.
on the bottom shelf is a graduation photo of A-Fu’s mother. on one side of it is A-Fu’s ultrasound picture in a frame, and on the other is an origami rose.

this is from an idea @guqin-and-flute had months and months ago and I scribbled down… and then spent ages angsting over trying to fix up, but fuck it! here it is. angsting over. I believe the concept was an extended family game of monopoly that went on way too fucking long, but cERTAIN PEOPLE were too competitive to just let it go…
(Zixuan and Yanli escaped with the excuse of putting A-Ling to bed. Qin Su quit and went out for drinks with Mianmian. Wangji went upstairs to put A-Yuan to bed like three hours ago but evidently fell asleep too as he has not returned)
this did actually start with me using reference and perspective grids and everything, I swear, but then I sort of gave up and started just working on ~ vibes ~ so, uh, pls forgive how janky it is lmao
