I saw this yesterday and I wanted to share ‘cause I think it represents more than one of us and also it’s too cute
Joaquin Phoenix and Vinessa Shaw as Leonard and Sandra in Two Lovers (2008) - directed by James Grey
Leonard Kraditor is probably the most subtly executed character by Joaquin, and this scene proves it:
The nervousness, the shyness, the mistrust of entering unknown territory where he doesn’t know how to behave, where he eats gum, looks around, and he tries to take the drink through the spoon thinking it’s a straw, and we even see him burlesque and scared of the decoration.
A fucking genius.
