So no joke, there is no character I have redone the lineup for more times than David Zavimbe and especially his Batwing armor. I have agonized over this one for months, y'all, and only finalized the design and ran it past @secretlystephaniebrown one last time just last night. I spent time looking at Congolese military uniforms and fashion in hopes of doing him justice but I’m sure I could use some critiques if anyone more knowledgeable has them <3

This lineup also has a lot of details I was excited to finally unveil, too! Like Cass’ civilian look, Max Lord’s punchable face, the first of two major OCs Hinn and I created for the story our beloved Checkmate pawn B3 <3, and a redux of the very minor villain from Animal Man (1988-1995) Tabu.

Tabu’s original design… I’ll just say it left a lot to be desired. Since so little is known in official canon about Tabu and Vixen’s native country of Zambesi, I tried to lean on the masks and traditional clothes of indigenous tribes in the North Eastern DRC with some artistic liberties. Just like with David, though, any help and corrections would be greatly appreciated <3

Carving out an entire day to do uninterrupted work, the grad student promptly loses all motivation and watches movies instead.
