The model for this image was also the same model for Edelfelt’s famous painting 'Queen Blanche (Blanka)’ c.1877.

It’s interesting to note that the Louvre themselves say 'Purchased (?)’ c.1941, under circumstances only partly recorded, including an estimate or purchase price of 50,000 francs. (x)
