Just came out of a good meeting with a faculty of Sustainable Communities masters program who is also the new president of the Broome County Arts Council. Invited to this pretty fancy award ceremony at the Doubletree. Congrats to my mentor and colleague, Peg Johnston who just received the HOTA award along with Emily Jablon and Tim Perry! Wow, a lot of women were dressed up as if they were on the red carpet – kinda felt out of place lol or maybe im too simple. Bought some Ironlak/Sugar spraypaint at HCS in Vestal with Jesse and met this really talented artist (welder) and BMX rider, Derek who runs the place formerly used as an indoor skateboard park. He is working on transforming it into a fabrication studio!! The three of us had a great chat about the future of DIY community urban parks in Binghamton. I think we have a new project we might wanna pursue for 2017-18. Ugh…makes me not wanna leave Binghamton!!
