I forgot to post it here before!

Back in October I went to watch Ian McDiarmid’s new show “The Lemon Table”. It was brilliant.

And I waited for the stage door to give him some of the prints of my drawing of his characters ⬆️. (He actually just casually walked out from the main door of the theatre. And no one was waiting there except me. (in Salisbury))

I gave him the drawings and he was definitely happy about it, and said “oh you got all of them”. (I thought to myself, I have seen many of your other works but most of them are villains in stupid criminal series or creepy minor roles, so I only choose those “decent” character to draw. (although that old faggot in “Our Hidden Lives” was not so decent at all.)

I also said to him, that I hope I could watch more of his stage work. He said there will be more!

He is such a sweetie!

And when I walked on the way back hotel, still dizzy, I encountered him again! He recognised me and said Hello to me. I am flattered.

Hope to see him on stage again!

EVER FRESH

Exhibition closing on May 14, 2016 at Stills Gallery, Paris Fair Exhibitor

36 Gosbell Street, 2021 Paddington

‘Freshness’ has shifted from an organic state to an abstract, cultural sign. It’s become fluid and slippery: infusing feelings and atmosphere, products, architecture and design.

“Ever Fresh” reflects on this global currency of ‘freshness’ through installations, videos, objects and images. It will temporarily transform the gallery into a futuristic, commercial utopia—resembling those that surround us with plastic plants, sparkling surfaces and lively screens.

Exhibited artists are: Tully Arnot (AU), Kristin Cammermeyer (USA), Adham Faramawy (UK), Emily Parsons-Lord (AU), Marilyn Schneider (AU) and Kawita Vatanajyankur (THAI).

These days, it often seems the world has tilted on its axis: nothing is the same, we’ve broken with

These days, it often seems the world has tilted on its axis: nothing is the same, we’ve broken with the past, there’s no going back. But we’ve still got an old friend kicking around—the barf bag. In these uncertain times, Hollywood’s horror filmmakers still turn to sick bags as a primo promotional gag. For there is still vomit in this realm, and still a need to contain it in the face of extreme spectacle. Cara Buckley writes: “After a moviegoer apparently vomited during a Los Angeles screening of the French coming-of-age cannibal flick, Raw, the theater began handing out barf bags … The move is a vintage publicity stunt going back some fifty years. Among the standout bags in movie history: The keepsake vomit bag from the 1963 splatter film Blood Feast came with an encouragement, ‘Spill your guts out!’ ‘Guaranteed to upset your stomach!’ proclaimed the bag from the 1981 Italian film Cannibal Ferox. The bag for The Beyond (1981) came with the thoughtfully worded warning, ‘Individuals with sensitive constitutions may experience stomach distress,’ and advised that the bag be used only once and not overfilled.”

This and more in today’s culture roundup.

Hey guys, I’m back, I had a little reprieve from posting or even checking my blog. I wanted to address the themes of solarpunk, the direction it’s moving and if it’s considered too idealistic for our modern, cynical society.

Short Answer: Yes

Long Answer: No, not entirely

Yes, solarpunk may have optimism embedded in it, but that’s mostly to ward off despair. Despair is easy to fall into as an activist or even an entire movement, so the focus is mostly on environmental impact and restoration, mitigation of ecological collapse, etc. First and foremost however, solarpunk is a political movement and no political movement is entirely optimistic for the future, otherwise they wouldn’t exist to attempt to make a change. As a new movement, we all have to decide our direction, our appeal, etc and like I’ve said before, utopian visuals are a nice goal, but we must focus on what we can change now and not what the next generation will attempt to do down the line.

There are many things we can improve on as a movement, like drawing attention to it (either artistically or politically, preferably both), getting involved with local to state government, or even subversive action (not recommended, but very effective in certain circumstances). Whatever that can be done to push the movement into the public eye, do it, not only for yourself, but because it’s the right thing to do.

Anyway babes, that’s all from me today. This has been @punkofsunshine have a good one and stay safe.
