#vancaf
Hey, all! As some of you may know, I collaborate on the Critical Hit Show Comic with the fantastic Eric Fell, the creator of the show, the world, and the writer of the comics (I only draw them for him). Well, recently I was able to sit down and hash out a design for the Spitz ‘n Ass Tavern Sign, and I went ahead and printed them on a butt-load of 1.5″ buttons:
They look so good, y'all.
They will be on sale for $1 each at theCritical Hit Show at the Rio TheatreinVancouver, BC this coming Wednesday, May 25th, and at the shows thereafter, too.
BUT WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!
Would you like one of these buttons? Are you going to VanCAF this weekend? Well, how would you like it if I said you could get one for FREE?!
That’s right! Come find me at the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival this Saturday and Sunday, May 21st-22nd, at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre in Vancouver, BC, and I will give a button away FREE to the first 25 people to tell me they’re fans of the Critical Hit Show! VanCAF is 100% free to attend, so do come on by!
How will you find me? Well, that’s the tricky part. I’m not tabling this year, but I will be wandering around the halls, going to almost every panel, bothering my friends who ARE exhibiting, and spending all my money. So yeah, the challenge is in finding me!
I will look something like this:
I will definitely be wearing that hat, that plaid shirt, and carrying that bag. So yeah, tap me on the shoulder, or call out “Hey, you!”, or use my name even, and I will totally stop and say hi and give you a button if you’re a fan of the show or of the comics. I’ll do my best to be walking around and visible when I’m not sitting in panels! Feel free to @ me on twitter if you’re looking for me and can’t find me: @RheallArt
The free buttons will be limited to the first 25 people, first come, first serve. One button per person. (And if you’ve never heard of the Critical Hit Show before, or never read the comic and couldn’t care less, please leave these buttons to those who have, and do! Be a good sport, and all that.) VanCAF is such a fantastic festival, so please do consider going if you like comics and are able to. I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
I’m selling my work at Vancaf this weekend!! If you’re in Vancouver, swing by and say hello :)
We are looking for a dedicated group of individuals interested in volunteering at VanCAF this year. Volunteering at VanCAF is a great way to get hands-on event management experience, as well as the opportunity to meet other people who love comics, and help out the folks who create them. Volunteers are an essential part of operating VanCAF, the show would fall apart without them!
If you’re interested, or know someone who is, please check out the sign up form on our website.

VanCAF, the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival, is May 19 & 20, 2018 at the Roundhouse in Vancouver British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada. Attendance is free, and open to everyone.
Do you have an idea for a panel at VanCAF? An interesting discussion on a current issue in the comics industry? A new approach that’s stirring up the industry? Or a debate between creators from different schools? Tell us about it!
The VanCAF team is looking for suggestions on panels, workshops, and other events during the festival this year. If you have something that you’d like to be part of our festival’s programming, please fill out the programming application on our website.
For everyone interested in exhibiting at VanCAF, the deadline to do so has been extended an additional month. Rather than December 31, applications are now due Wednesday, January 31, 2018. The decision was made to help alleviate some holiday stress from our potential exhibitors, and to encourage new folks to apply as well!
Here’s a link to the exhibitor application. Thank you for reading!
