ok so i did math while watching the batman a second time and determined selina is 23 (bruce is 28 but that’s unrelated to this post), so her calling her friend “just a kid” could make sense if annika were, say, around 21 and still naive about the club scene
they were dating, we all can see that, so maybe they had a couple years age difference and different life experiences so selina would feel protective over her as well as feel older in comparison
they made their relationship so confusing, the entire first time i watched it i was trying to figure out if they were dating or if annika was like. her daughter somehow
