The journey begins for Sir Gawain … This is a scene inspired by the tale “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight”, which was translated By J.R.R. Tolkien a while ago. It is depicting the moment when, after a christmas celebration that lasted several days, the mighty Gawain leaves Camelot alone to avenge King arthur, who has been insulted by the mysterious and frightening Green Knight.
Here’s my take on the “Green Knight” legend ( he usually rides a horse, but I decided to replace it by a more “fantasy looking” creature). Of course it’s linked to the previous post I made about Gawain.
I finished this commission quite a while back. “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” a silly little tale concerning a challenge between a big green weirdo and a young knight of King Arthur’s court. I hope you enjoy!
This prompt made me think of two scenes that break my heart each time I watch them:
When Jim discovers sun affects him as a Half Troll.
When Arthur almost turns Jim into stone.
So…what would’ve happened if Jim had received such a harsh punishment? Maybe if Arthur was paranoic enough to take the matter into his own hands, Jim…would be gone…
