You know sometimes you think somethings done so you post it and then immediately turn around and redo the colors, it happens. Anyway Yuuri’s precious enough to deserve two birthday posts!
Drawing the boys is rejuvenating, I missed them. I might end up fully coloring this later but for now I wanted to get something out for the Katsudon’s birthday. edit: guess this now counts as a wip so here’s the final version
I’ve seen a lot of gorgeous historical yuri AU’s floating about and I wanted to participate so here’s a Russo-Japanese war AU
The premise being that Yuuri learns about the Russian war hero Victor through postcard illustrations (during the Russo-Japanese war illustrated postcards were used as propaganda pieces but also occasionally featured Russian soldiers doing heroic things) Yuuri collects every postcard with Victor on it and eventually is sent to the war himself where he saves Victor from an attack or something probably. Basically this is just me proving that I can manipulate anything to serve a trashy fanart purpose even my sophomore art history project about postcard illustrations. Also Makkachin’s a war horse in this scenario, okay I’m done now.

this is a short 8 page Yuri on Ice: Little Mermaid AU comic i made for my friend’s birthday. full disclosure, i traced the characters from various screenshots of the show, because i could not figure out how to draw them myself lol.
i imagine the story goes something like: yuuri saves viktor, and he makes a deal with a witch to have legs and finally skate for real. viktor got a nasty flu after his dip in the lake and isn’t sure if the merman who saved his life was part of a fever dream or not, but he’s damn sure he recognizes yuuri from somewhere when he goes back to the lake and sees the dude trying his best to skate on his new legs. viktor teaches him how to skate, is amazed that his new mute student learns so quick, and finally figures it out when he catches yuuri doing viktor’s routine that he’s only ever practiced on the lake. they kiss at sunset or something and it’s happily ever after, THE END.

Yuri!!! on Ice’s English dub is the bestthing I’ve seen in a long time
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve watched it subbed in Japanese at first and basically, everyone in there is chaotic and dramatic 24/7, just as one would expect from an anime about male figure skaters
But man, oh, man, that fucking dub has me rolling on the floor, it simply adds another layer into the cauldron for me
Overall, I think the whole dubbing is really great. It’s funny, makes Yuri ten times more dramatic and Yuiro with Victor ten times more Russian. The side characters are ten times more recognizable for me… And Chris? M U R D E R M E.
