The fact that when Elliot Page came out, he said he was going to continue playing his Umbrella Academy character as a cis woman, and the Umbrella academy writers and crew were aware enough and kind enough to say, “you don’t have to, he’s Viktor now”. It just makes me so warm inside.
saw the new umbrella academy trailer and i’m a little pissed off that the trailer is pitting Viktor against another black character. His entire first arc centered around how he hurt Allison, and now we got this.
I don’t want Viktor to become synonymous with anti-blackness (again), so I’m hoping that interaction he had with the black sparrow academy guy is the only negative interaction he has.
It took me a long time to like him specifically because of his relationship with Allision being a black woman, and because his original arc was so intertwined in racism. And I hope the show writers have learned from that, and don’t create a rivalary with the first trans guy character in the show against a black guy, because I think Viktor deserves to exist without anti-blackness, considering the writing has done so well to remedy S1, and because I don’t want black fans to have to be put in another difficult situation in which we have to fight Viktor’s fanbase due to anti-blackness.
The trailer shows Viktor threatning Marcus but I personally think it’s edited to look like that when he’s actually talking to his number counter part in the sparrow academy, Christopher. Aka the floating cube
Thinking about Viktors powers rn. Cuz like there sound based right? So like he makes sound waves and can manipulate sound waves to give himself telekinesis which makes sense. He also has atmokinesis. For some reason. Idk if anyone’s better at sound then me pls explain this to me.
But I think they should lean further into the sound aspect in s3. He goes and just steals all the sound in the room. No one and nothing can make noise. He’s has absorbed the sound and is even more powerful. Maybe he can also overload people with sound. Create a sound so criplingly loud his enemies cannot move. He messes with the frequency of sound to create the deepest bass or the highest pitch. Idk there’s just so much potential on the sound aspect here, along with the fact that he’s a musician that just hasn’t been tapped into yet, and definitely needs to imo.
