Summary: Sloane ran away from Sparrow Academy. Her siblings had no way of contacting her, until Marcus gets a late night call.
An unknown number called Marcus on a late rainy day. No one except his family had his number. Everyone was sleeping under the same roof as him… except
“Sloane?” Marcus accepted the call, hoped it was his sister.
Five years ago, his sister had escaped from the Sparrow Academy.
It was no secret that Sloane wanted an out from this life. She wanted to explore the world, fall in love, meet her biological family.
“Marcus?” The familiar voice made Marcus take a deep breathe. It felt so good to hear his sister voice after so long.
“Sloane… oh my dear sister.” Marcus tried to keep his voice from cracking. “Sloane, how have you been?”
“Marcus…” Sloane began, her voice was trembling and he could hear the sniffle in the background. “I want to come home. Marcus, I want to come home.”
“Come home then sister. Come back to us.”
“You all still want me to come? When I betrayed all of you and ran away?”
“Of course! We will accept you with open arms. Alphonso will maybe cut your hair but no murder attempt will happen.” Marcus smiled when he heard his sister laugh. “After all, we are siblings, a family.”
The other line went quiet for a little. It felt like his stomach was getting squeezed from the anxiety of his sister disappearing again.
“I’m still part of the family?” Her trembling voice washed away the fear.
“Of course Sloane. You could decide to never come back again, and we will still think of you as part of this family. My dear sister, nothing can break our bond.”
Marcus could hear the sniffle from the other side of the line. He waited for her to stop crying.
“Marcus…” Sloane began. “Brother… I miss you…. I miss all of you. I want to come home again. “ She confessed.
“When you’re ready, come back to us. We’ll always wait for you, always.”
Luther, Diego and Five were pissing Marcus off for every second that passed. Trying to take his role as the leader and coming up with suicide plans.
“If you have any braincells left, you would trust me in this.” It almost sounded like Five was begging Marcus.
“The same wayyour Ben trusted you all with his life.” Marcus finally snapped.
Silence fell in the room. None of the siblings from the other universe said anything, not even Klaus who usually had a comment for everything.
Their reaction only confirmed what Marcus had suspected for a while.
“Yeah, it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out with the way you all look at myBen. Acting like you know him, like he’s your long lost brother.”
“He’s death… It… It was an accident,” Luther began. Everyone could hear the pain in his voice. but Marcus couldn’t care about his opinion.
“Let’s make one thing clear, big man. This is myteam,my family.” Marcus pointed at Ben. “My brother!” His voice boomed through the room as he took a step closer to Luther.
“And if you think I’ll leave my siblings’ lives at your hands, then you’re wrong moon boy.” Marcus mocked. “I refuse to trust your plans when you couldn’t even stop the apocalypse, twice! Let alone, protect yourown brother.”
