For some reason it really pleases my goblin brain to see my earthly possessions just haphazardly piled on top of each other on cleaning days. It’s clutter, but it’s, like, good clutter? Interesting clutter, with an abundance of visual details to look at?

Last weekend my family hit a hare on the road when it got dark, the poor thing went straight through the headlight and got stuck.

I took it home with me and cleaned it up a bit. I envisioned an umbilical cord attached to nature’s womb.

Worked on something today…

Photos will come later

Opossum that was humanely euthanized due to injury

Buck on left I picked up for work. He was tangled in a chain link fence.

Buck on right I had to dispatch after getting hit by a car.

Both coming along nicely!

Long time no see!

Hello everyone!! What a minute it’s been since I’ve been on here!! I have been so busy with life. I ended up in a mental health facility for a bit to get myself better. I feel great, got engaged last weekend, and have been doing more vulture culture stuff.

Pictured is a litter of opossum Joey’s and an older joey!

Bobcat missing two teeth.

Degreased and whitened.

Got this guy today hoping I could find his other antler. I was unable to locate it and upon further inspection of him, his skull was very broken! I just cut his antler off after that.

Another roadkill fatality but I was too late getting to him to save his meat!

Had to dispatch this poor guy at work. Got hit by a car and broke both front legs. He will not go to waste though! I dropped him off at the processor and kept his head.

This poor guy met his demise via a fence. Those unique tines got caught in some chain link and he got stuck. We were called out to remove him. What a cool guy!!

Hey fellow vultures, can I ask your advice? I collected a mummified squirrel last year, and rotted it down and degreased it, or at least I thought I had, so I put it in peroxide for a day, and most of the bones turned out great like those on the left, but some still have a pinkish/brownish color to parts of them. Am I correct that these need more degreasing? Or is this just a color abnormality? If I leave them as-is are they likely to get smelly again? Do they need more time in peroxide??

Sorry for the newb question. My normal source for silly vc questions has disappeared :(
