I just figured out that the dark one is not actually the embodiment of evil. he’s the embodiment of entropy, oblivion, of nothingness.he exists outside the pattern because the pattern is something, and he is the opposite. min, the finn, the foretelling aes sedai can’t read the dark one’s affects on events within the pattern because his touch isn’t a something that can be observed and measured, it’s just entropy. it’s why his touch on the world made plants rot and die, and why the cuendillar seals failed bc of his effect on them, and why his deal offered to moridin and then rand was oblivion, because that’s what the dark one is

Like yeah that’s not how accents work given the history there but it is going to be so galaxy-brained when the big reveal hits if they can pull this off consistently
