how do you recreate a book cover that’s become so totally iconic? i guess you don’t. i guess instead u focus on what matters to u, to focus on the lettering and keep the color palette basically the same. anyway I finally bought one of the lettering grid packs from @stefankunz cause i felt i’d finally exhausted all my thoughts for the two free ones that @goodtype sponsored a few weeks back. ✨ and let me tell you it is a game-changer.

all dressed up (with nowhere to go) you’re really enojoying seeing eight different photos of the same project aren’t you look it took eight times as long as a normal project ?

i recommended this book to my dentist while her fingers were in my mouth and im recommending it to you too: “i know it’s about hockey but it’s really about right now. It’s about America post 2016 and our past and our future and everything that’s ever happened, even though it’s set in Sweden and it’s kinda sorta a little bit about hockey “bear town” is the kind of book that defies explanation because to explain it would be to ruin it. but it’s stunning. it’s “cat person” only it’s 432 pages and it’s not just about millennials if “the art of fielding” (my other favorite sports novel not actually about sports) was the baseball novel about our lives, then “bear town” is the hockey novel about our lives today anyway, read it. : Joshua Fuller and Christian Holzinger @unsplash

i made about 23 of these envelopes before i realized I forgot to put the state on the return addresses don’t worry, i have since rectified my mistake, but how perfectly it makes for disguising the address for all the strangers on instagram, huh?

you know what’s a really great way to practice your envelope calligraphy?? spell your best friend’s name wrong so you have to turn it into a random sample so at least you can post the images on insta without leaking anyone’s real address ✒️ then invent a last name that kinda sounds real—which is way easier said than done, especially when you’re trying to name characters for a novel anyway, happy belated birthdat to @mkhyde623 , which is cool for me to say here ‘cause I already gave you the card in person.

okay so this is a little cheeky but it’s such a pivitol scene AND so ripe with symbolism that I leaned in and now that i’ve read Call Me By Your Name i’m dying to finally see the film but am i emotionally ready for the visual experience? stay tuned to find out! But seriously, some books are just better at the movies, it’s not actually blasphemous to say What’s your fave adaptation? Maybe I’ll try recovering a movie cover version that isn’t just a still from the set

when your best friend the bride doesn’t update her address book after two someones move, you’ll have a really good excuse for sample thank you cards and envelopes and y'all, this wedding is on Saturday (!) the excitement level is a WHOLE lot can we all promise to never live in a town named after another state? it’s pretty ridiculous.
