My dude, you know that moment when two characters haven’t seen each other in forever, and then they see each other and it’s like time stretches as they stare at each other? Then, they both smile at the same time. They close the gap. Then comes that solid “thank god you’re alive” hug. The “I missed you” hug. The “don’t leave me again” hug. And you know they don’t want to let go. So, they don’t.
is timeline building a form of worldbuilding? i’m getting so frustrated at sci-fi non-sense rn, and i want to build/form a timeline that’s comprehensible to me, lmao.

Haku told her to close her eyes, and she did. After hearing a deep and focused breath, Kaede felt five, cold and slender fingers touch the side of her neck. The tips gingerly curled around to her nape and their thumb rested under her jaw. Slowly, she felt the remnants of her strength fade from her body.
The world drifted further from her body by the second. Soon Kaede was caught in Haku’s cloaked arms. Energy was sapped away from as far as her toes and fingertips. Their loose embrace felt as comfortable as pillows and the icy water around her bare feet soothing and kind. Before the final slivers of her consciousness left her, a distant voice reached her ears.
“Please Kaede—”

I’ve been writing since I knew how to write…20+ years later and only now am I realizing how much work goes into not only writing a story, but the promoting! But I don’t regret this AT ALL.
