I will cry every time I see this scene! Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin are absolutely perfect. And the script was great - the way their first instincts were to worry about each other (‘don’t run!’ 'why are you being arrested?’), the way Seri is overwhelmed with emotions, the way Ri Jeong Hyeok tried to reassure her despite being heartbroken himself, the way he apologized to her, declared his love for her, and gave her hope for the future… It was such a powerful scene.

It was amazing the way each goodbye scene escalated throughout the story. From the rather light-hearted one on the boat, to the one in the village where she had some lingering feelings but could still let him go, to the one at the border where they had a difficult time parting but could still subdue their feelings and act like it was just another break-up because it was for the best, to this final goodbye where they knew there could be no one else in their lives and they might not see each other again…
