#25th annual putnam county spelling bee
(25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee)
Schwarzy:On a scale from “damn Daniel” to “fre sha vaca do”, how are you feeling?
Barfée:In between “it’s an avocado, thanks” and “how did you defeat Captain America”, but as a solid answer I would say “I don’t need a degree to be a clothing hanger”. How about you, Olive?
Olive: Probably “road work ahead”.
Marcy Parks: I speak many languages, and this is none of them.

!!Story Time!!
(this ain’t newsies so if you’re only here’s for my newsies content then this ain’t it)
Today I had rehearsal cause i’m an assistant stage manager for our show, that being because I auditioned for it and didn’t get it but I decided to join crew (I’m a freshman so I wasn’t first priority.) Anyway, the show we’re doing is The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and we were running it from the beginning of Act 2, and both our Olive’s and Barfee were working with our dance director for their mini dance in one of the final songs. Our director had asked who would fill in for Olive so I said I would and did it, another senior took over for Barfee. Now keep in mind, I am up on stage with upper class men who know the blocking for this (I know some of it but very little) and me, a mere freshman playing Olive Ostrovsky the fracking lead, I was a little nervous. Now in the second act (if you’re familiar with the show) the I Love You Song is in that Act so that meant Ihad to sing that song. If you aren’t familiar with it let’s just say it’s a pretty sad and powerful song and it’s in a high range. According to my fellow crew members I did great! Which I’m really happy about because I love that character and that song and all of the other actors were impressed and i’m glad I was able to leave a good impression on them. Also they were curious as to why and how I knew the song so well: let’s just say it’s something I listen to at least 3x a day <3
