Nessian Head Cannon

Even when depressed Nesta keeps all the newspaper clippings or updates on what the heck Cassian is up to.

Kind of like Nathan and Haley from OTH

A COVER REVEAL WON’T MAKE ME FORGET THAT THE RELEASE DATE GOT PUSHED BACK

Dang this new book better come out before I am persuaded by all the anti’s on tumblr to hate the whole fandom

ACOSF I’m looking at you

People! Please comment with your favorite Nessian moment!!! I need some good nessian crap to get me through this week. I’ll start it off

My favorite Nessian moment is….

Right before the meeting of the high lords when Nesta and Cas talk as everyone is leaving. All of it! How she changed her mind to be more active in the war and didn’t want to be a coward. How he was so excited to see her. How they communicated by understanding and not so much words. I love that Nesta was vulnerable and safe and Cas saw that and her. I loved it!!!

Feel free to add to this!

List of Special Nesta Moments

Moments that hunt at Nesta being more aka more powerful, not fae, future queen of something

- Tamlin’s fae magic couldn’t trick Nesta’s mind. She saw right through it all ACOTAR

- Nests could tell when Feyre went into Lucien’s mind and Feyre had know idea how she knew ACOWAR

- Devon and all the Illyrian commanders were freaked out by her (and they live in the dangerous mountains) ACOWAR

- the Bone Carver spoke about how she is acient and yet she is newly born ACOWAR

Proof that Elaine the seer had a vision about last battle of ACOWAR

1.Elaine has been having visions and has mentioning them to people in her. Kirk when she says to Nests “twin ravens are coming” then Nests gets attached by the king’s 2 ravens

2. Elaine mentions to Cassian that he would die with broken wings and bones. While eating breakfast she says to Cassian “he snapped your wings, broke your bones” cassian replied saying “it will take more than that to kill me.” Elaine then tells him “no it will not”. It’s like she has seen it right?!

3.In battle with the king Cassian breaks his bones and his wings and is about to die! “Not twenty feet away, Cassian was on the ground. Wings—snapped in spots. Blood leaking from them. Bone jutted from his thigh.”

4. Cassian and Nesta are literally about to be killed by the king when out of nowhere Elaine appears and saves them. How did she know where they where? How did she know they needed help? She saw them

5. This is the girl that was dizzy at the thought of war. She was a rose bloom in a muddy pin of horses. How did she muster the strength to get up go through the battle field, find her sister and Cassian, and then kill the king a man I’m sure Elaine fears. How did she do this???? She had seen it in a vision. She had seen Cassian and Nesta dying and knew they needed her. Only that would have brought her to that field ready to use the sword and stab the king.

Can’t wait to see this in ACOSF

Nesta being super stubborn about a small thing that doesn’t really matter to her but then she realizes how much it means to Cassian and quickly compromises.

Hey queens time for another song analysis. This one is so accurate in my opinion and it it me like a ton of bricks when I realized Tolerate It by Taylor Swift is legit Tamlin and Feyre in acomaf.

“I sit and watch you reading with your
Head low
I wake and watch you breathing with your
Eyes closed”

So Feyre feels like she’s helpless all the time that she’s at the spring court. She feels like she’s just watching Tamlin do things that shes never included in. Also, This shows how closed off Tamlin is. This definitely also connects to how Feyre would wake up from her nightmares and Tamlin wouldn’t do anything to help her. Notice how it doesn’t even say that she’s watching him sleep, only breathing with his eyes closed, like he’s pretending to sleep. He’s pretending he doesn’t see her struggling.

“I sit and watch you
And notice everything you do or don’t do
You’re so much older and wiser and I”

During this time, Feyre’s life revolved around Tamlin– she wouldn’t do anything else and didn’t have the freedom to do much else. Also, the line “so much older and wiser” reflects how she still feels human compared to the fae, like Tamlin, who are way older and more experienced. This made her feel even more worthless.

“I wait by the door like I’m just a kid
Use my best colors for your portrait
Lay the table with the fancy shit
And watch you tolerate it”

Okay so I love this section because it shows how she felt like Tamlin’s “pet.” She waited for permission and craved his approval. She would listen to him when he told her not to do something, like she was a child. I also love the “use my best colors for your portrait” line bc as we all know Feyre is an artist, and even though she wasn’t actually painting at this time, she painted a picture of Tamlin in her head that was really idealized version that she fell in love with. The next line is Feyre trying to make herself comfortable with the idea of being Lady of the Spring court and staying at the manor. And of course, we see that Tamlin loves her, but he doesn’t love her enough to let her live her own life and have her own independence. He tolerates her objections, because he feels overly possessive of her.

“If it’s all in my head tell me now
Tell me I’ve got it wrong somehow
I know my love should be celebrated
But you tolerate it”

This is kind of just an internal monologue where she feels like she deserves better sometimes, but she also has so much going on that she thinks she could be imagining it. Her mental health was really bad, so she’s dismissing it as a product of her being broken, because she doesn’t see that he’s the one actually breaking her.

“I greet you with a battle hero’s welcome
I take your indiscretions all in good fun
I sit and listen
I polish plates until they gleam and glisten
You’re so much older and wiser and I”

I love, love, love this because this actually happens– Tamlin refuses to let her come with him on some outing to the wall (i think) and she just has to see him when he gets home. She ignores the parts about him that are red flags, because she doesn’t know what else to do. She plays a “good wife” role because she thinks that’s all she can amount to, since he never told her otherwise.

“While you were out building other worlds, where was I?
Where’s that man who’d throw blankets over my barbed wire?”

Tamlin is constantly out doing his High Lord duties, and trying to make peace. Feyre feels like she should be doing so much more but she’s always stuck at home, and told that she wouldn’t be of use anywhere else. She missed the way that she felt when she first fell in love with him, when she felt like he healed her. She doesn’t recognize who he is anymore– now all he seems to do is hurt her.

“I made you my temple, my mural, my sky
Now I’m begging for footnotes in the story of your life“

Feyre romanticized the shit out of Tamlin. All of her paintings were about him and the spring court. Tamlin never really gave a shit about her– he just wanted her to be his. What did he do when he had a chance to help her UTM? He tried to take advantage of her. smh. Her happiness was never really a priority for him. They were never going to be equals… he told her that High Lady existed. If he really wanted her to be a bigger part of his life he would have done what Rhys did. But ofc he didn’t.

“Drawing hearts in the byline
Always taking up too much space or time
You assume I’m fine
But what would you do if I, I”

I legitimately don’t think that Tamlin ever had the thought that he was smothering Feyre. I don’t even hate Tamlin… I lowkey feel bad for him especially after what he tells her in acowar. I digress. He still didn’t care enough to really see what was going on and he just assumed that she could be able to sort out her trauma buy stuffing it all down like how he does, which makes Feyre feel 10x more broken for not being able to cope, since obviously that’s not healthy, and doesn’t work.

“Break free and leave us in ruins
Took this dagger in me and removed it”

YAY now she is thinking about leaving bc yes what a queen. Specifically, leaving them in ruins, reminds me of acowar where she legit leaves the spring court in absolute shambles. Also, the dagger line reminds me of the way she had to kill those two faeries in the third task. She never felt the same after that, so taking the dagger out would represent her having to move on and accept what she did.

“Gain the weight of you then lose it
Believe me, I could do it”

She gained tamlins love, until realizing that it wasn’t what she wanted or needed anymore. And she starts thinking that she could really leave him.. AND SHE DOES so good for her. Because we got Feysand<3

the inner circle as taylor swift lyrics

mor: “‘cause darling i’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream”

feyre: “i’ll be the actress starring in your bad dreams”

rhys: “been sleeping so long in a 20 year dark night, now i’m wide awake”

amren: “if he spends my change then he had it coming”

cass: “that’s when you came in wearing a football helmet and said ‘okay let’s talk’”

az: “if my wishes came true, it would’ve been you”

bonus! tamlin: “all you are is mean. and a liar. and pathetic. and alone in life. and mean❤️”

feyre archeron// “the archer”

i’m so excited about this one bc ‘the archer’ by taylor swift goes with feyre’s character arc and journey so strap in before i take you through this.

“Combat, I’m ready for combat
I say I don’t want that, but what if I do?”

so this starts off when feyre is still with tamlin at the start of acomaf and she’s feeling very helpless and sidelined. she is telling herself that she would just be happy being tamlins wife and being lady of the spring court, but seeing the growing conflict around her, she questions this and wonders if she might want to do more.

“'Cause cruelty wins in the movies
I’ve got a hundred thrown-out speeches I almost said to you”

she wants to speak up for herself but she doesn’t have her voice yet. when we are in her head we see all the objections she makes, but almost never actually ever says. feyre and tamlin’s communication is horrible, and obviously this is not good for them.

“Easy they come, easy they go
I jump from the train, I ride off alone”

i think this part represents her finally leaving. she is now without tamlin and feels alone. she’s thinking about how nothing in her life has really been constant and she feels like no one will stay for her.

“I never grew up, it’s getting so old
Help me hold onto you”

feyre never had a real childhood. when her father lost his fortune she was still pretty young (14 i THINK?? i don’t really remember exactly) and she took over taking care of her family. her mom also asked her to watch over her sisters for some reason… which is a lot to ask of a youngest sister. I think this kind of resulted in her never truly fully developing on her own. as soon as she was free from her past life and role in her family, she was with tamlin so she never got to be her own person. she doesn’t really know how to hold on to someone bc she feels abandoned herself.

“I’ve been the archer
I’ve been the prey”

okay so clearly feyre is actually an archer, she killed the faerie in the woods in the first book. this also kind of represents how she sees herself as a monster, especially after under the mountain. she questions her humanity after she had to take innocent lives– she feels like a murderer. feyre has also been a victim, with under the mountain probably being the best example when she was treated like filth and actually ended up being killed by amarantha. she was also treated like a caged animal with tamlin– she was made a victim by him.

“Who could ever leave me, darling?
But who could stay?”

HAHAHA DARLING so i think this song is like spoken to rhys and she’s letting him see all of her insecurities. she’s questioning why everyone in her life has failed her and has left her to fend for herself, but she also doesn’t blame them bc she feels like a burden and a monster.

“Dark side, I search for your dark side
But what if I’m alright, right, right, right here?”

so this is directed at rhys and its perfect because she’s looking to see if the dark side of him that he displays is even there. initially she is obviously very skeptical of him tries to find out what is actually true about him– she does find a dark side but not what she was expecting, but a softer one that’s a result of his past and that he’s stronger for. the next line is about her mental health during that period where she first gets to velaris. feyre still feels hopeless and doesn’t know what she wants or if she even wants to get better. She was clearly in a bad place and, later she tells lucien, “when you spend so long trapped in darkness, lucien you find that the darkness begins to stare back.” it took a lot for her to get out of that mindset and into something healthier. in the prologue she even wonder to herself in her dream if she had always been this broken inside.

“And I cut off my nose just to spite my face
Then I hate my reflection for years and years”

i think of this part as being the scene with the bone carver where feyre admits that if the last faerie she had to kill hadn’t been tamlin, she would have stabbed herself. she hated who she became because of that experience, and it made her hate herself after. i also think a connection could be made to the ouroboros mirror since it shows the darkest part of you, and feyre had a problem with coming to terms with what she did, until she was finally able to face herself in the mirror. this also could be about how physically she was weak and looked sickly until she came into her own and healed at the night court.

“I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost
The room is on fire, invisible smoke
And all of my heroes die all alone
Help me hold onto you”

feyre has problems with nightmares and she is often awake at night, throwing up and trying to ground herself to reality. she even lights something on fire when she has a nightmare in acomaf– but i think these lines are more about her inner conflict and her feeling like she’s causing destruction everywhere she goes, and feeling like she can’t breathe.

“'Cause they see right through me
They see right through me
They see right through
Can you see right through me?
They see right through
They see right through me
I see right through me”

this is her finally completely opening up about herself to rhys, saying that she has a lot of deeply rooted issues and she knows it’s obvious to everyone around her that she is struggling. this is also her finally admitting that shes not fine.

“All the king’s horses, all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me together again
‘Cause all of my enemies started out friends
Help me hold onto you”

feyre is reflecting on how broken she was when she was with tamlin, but no one could fix her. not that tamlin reallytried, but his half hearted attempts of giving her new paints, going on with the wedding and generally trying to subdue her didn’t work. this also kind of implies the only person that can fix feyre, is herself. also her now enemy, tamlin, started off as her friend and lover. she doesn’t want this to happen again and is asking for rhys to help her hold on to him<3.

“Who could stay?
You could stay
You could stay
You”

“Combat, I’m ready for combat”

so this has a sweet ending of her realizing that rhys would stay with her and help her work through everything. he wouldn’t treat her like the animal she feels like she is. and the last line is her realizing that she really does want to fight and overcome this. she wants to heal herself, harness her powers, and fight for the new home she has found :)

yay! (also side note i wanna mention: feyre is a fellow sagittarius (born dec 21) so the archer fits even better bc that’s the sag symbol) anyways hope that wasn’t too long and actually made sense. i’m gonna crawl into my hole now.

hey so i guess this might be an ongoing thing bc i relate so many songs i like to fiction and “to the mountains” by lizzie mcalpine is legit feyre in acomaf so i’ll share my thoughts.

“Oh, I’m headed to the mountains
I’ll be back in a week or two
Don’t you try to reach me ‘cause I won’t pick up for you
I’ve got some things I need to do“

so like im imagining right when feyre finds out that rhys is her mate and she asks mor to take her away so she goes to the cottage in the mountains (i believe its the house of mist but i might be wrong). But it works well because she says to mor “I want you to take me somewhere far away.” feyre also asks mor not to tell rhys where she is and tell him that she doesn’t want to be found yet. also some things to do, feyre? like vandalize a house with ur stick figures that you’ve never even been in before without consulting anyone first? go off ig

“Oh I’m headed to the mountains
Where the air is sweet and new
Don’t you try to reach me 'cause I don’t want to talk to you
I’ve got some thinking to do”

in acomaf, feyre thinks to herself, “I needed to get away– I needed to think, to have space and quiet and calm,” (chapter 51) which is a lot like the song bc she has some thinking to do about her relationship with rhys and how she feels about being lied to. also, when she gets there, she points out that it felt fresh and clean compared to her, which was a sign that she was going to heal.

“I’m trying to let go
I think it could help being alone
And I’m trying not to let you make me cry
I’ve spilled too many tears
And I think I deserve to be alone”

feyre clearly just needed time alone to think through and process everything that had happened. she was trying to let go of the anger she had initially felt when the suriel told her that she was rhys’s mate. she was trying to finally let go of her relationship with tamlin that had been holding her down even though they had already separated. she was trying to let go of her past trauma and she needed to be alone in order to see that the future that she pictured for herself wasn’t one where she was alone, but with rhysand.

“And don’t you try to reach me while I pick myself up and go
I’ve got to do this on my own
I need to build myself a home“

i love this because this is rly what she does. she takes a few days to recoup. feyre spends her time thinking, painting and becoming more at peace with everything. she needed to realize herself that rhys was her home. i also think that her painting kind of symbolizes how she is making this life her own, since she customizes everything. and the painting obviously shows her healing, since she wasn’t able to paint when she came back from under the mountain. I also think the line about home goes with the line mor tells feyre, “ Is it so bad– to be his mate? To be a part of our court, our family, tangled history and all?” (chapter 52). and she finally gets her answer from that.

“Oh, I’m headed to the mountains
The only place I feel the peace
And I knew you’d come after me so I threw away the keys
But I know you never go when I say leave
I’m headed to the mountains don’t wait up for me”

so now she’s saying that she is able to feel peace in the mountains, which is very true considering the contrast from under the mountain where she felt very suffocated and trapped. now she also says that she knew he would come for her, which of course, does happen. but since she was able to process everything by then, she can let him in :)

this was a fun one and also very accurate in my opinion haha hope ya’ll liked it.

i think we all need to collectively realize that “angels like you” by miley cyrus is the nessian anthem we all needed. think about it.

“i brought you down to your knees, ‘cause they say that misery loves company. its not your fault i ruin everything, its not your fault i cant be what you need”

“baby angels like you can’t fly down hell with me”

“im everything they said i would be” :(

brb gonna cry

Pouty Rhysand and Feyre

//Reposting my Rhys one bc I ended up drawing one for Feyre

I drew these two at very separate times so Rhys is a lot more messy and Feyre is more soft.

I have never been more attracted to Gwyn then when:

She awoke and led that beast to kill the Illyrian warriors that were trying to kill Nesta & Emerie.

I have never been more attracted to Nesta then when:

She stabbed the knife into that Illyrian’s balls..

& THEN SHOVED IT IN FURTHER!

Amren: We can discuss the idiocy of this bargin later.
