In the fall, my Tillandsia caput-medusae air plant flowered and now it has a pup growing from its base!  It will be exciting to watch this tiny air plant grow.

I own way more air plant holders than air plants. I see them everywhere. Candle holder? Ashtray? Tiny vase? All air plant holders in my eyes.

Behold and beware! The haunted geometric air plant is on the loose! It’s extra spooky for me because math was my worst subject.

I don’t even care if half of you are bots; I’m celebrating, pot-hoes!

Anyway, here’s a new post featuring my newest plants. I got them on Etsy. Most of the other items in the picture were inherited from Human Margaret. I just think they’re pretty.

Far Left: Tillandsia juncea

Top Right: Tillandsia xerographica

Clam Shell Left: Tillandsia caput-medusae

Clam Shell Right: Tillandsia fuchsii v. gracilis

Depupped my Vanhyningii Jumbo to make space for the new pups that appeared

Somehow the form of the “side pup” is more wide and similar to the mum than the “basal pups”, and grows faster although the “basal pups” appeared first One of the “basal pups” accidentally got depupped, so you can see the difference in form.

Depupped my second vanhyningii jumbo “side pup” today and look how much the first one has grown!

Can’t wait to see the second side pup growing into the typical form of the species, just like the first

Look at how much Side Pup #1 has grown!

Somehow it feels strange to refer to a Padre as a “mama” because it feels like it’s such a masculine name Also, please ignore the photobombing ramellae; I was too lazy to detach everything before taking the photo.

Anyway my Padre bloomed way too early and borne 2 pups months after. I gave independence to one of them few days ago and left the second child to grow bigger before depupping. Hopefully the firstborn grows way bigger than mum/dad before flowering (same for the second child of course)!!

Flowering process of T. crocata ‘Copper Penny’, 25 - 27 Sep.

She flowered when I was still wfh so I managed to capture the process

Clearance air plants are great because they come with their cute little glass containers that you can use for other projects if you want, and this one is especially great because the plant is actually still alive.

Laid on its back in some kind of stabilizing base (such as the 4-inch clear plastic saucers I love so much), this container would be a very cute marimo tank.
