LIVE

I’m soft for Alpha/Beta/Omega stay at home parents with their pups. The idea that it’s only an Omega’s job, in my verse, came from the idea that they’re ‘weaker’. Even though back in the day, it was common for Alpha’s and Omega couples take turns.

Alpha: In this day and age, it is uncommon to see an Alpha in an Alpha/Omega relationship be stay at home parents. Though that doesn’t mean it is absolutely unheard of! Contrary to popular belief, Alpha’s can be just as good parents as Omegas. An Alpha would probably flounder just a little due to their protective nature. Like is the knives out of their pups reach? Even if it’s up on the high shelf. Did they accidentally poison the food? Is the water supply cold enough? But not too cold, cause hypothermia. They try and make sure their pup is protected, though that might get in the way of the pups feelings. But many Alpha’s try and prevent from being emotionally detached from their child. As that is sadly, a pattern for many Alpha parents, protect and care and love but don’t explain and talk. Many, if they start to see the signs that they are falling into this behavior, try and fix it. Especially if they’re a single parent.

They’d teach their pup how to den, even if they don’t know their dynamic yet. It’s just a nice way to bond with their child. And many will continue to help and bond with their child this way. Even if they’re now a Kiddie and an Omega or Beta. Taking their Kiddie into their more protective den (a den inside a den essentially) and watching TV, or doing other activities such as snuggling with them is nice. Although Alpha’s may be awkward about it, they also try and help their pup, now Kiddie, through their presenting. Giving them tips and meds and taking them to the doctor regularly. Sometimes a bit too much, but Alpha parents are worry worts and want to make sure they’re doing it right.

Funnily enough, in A/A couples that possess a man and woman, it is usually the Alpha men that become the stay at home parent. Alpha’s don’t know why, they’re stumped on why this is the case, but many don’t complain. In A/B couples, it usually depends on the individual. But it’s more common for Betas to stay at home than the Alpha. But there are still many A/B couples that have the Alpha stay at home.

Beta: Beta’s are often known to be switching stay at home parents. One year they work, another year they stay at home with their child. It’s a system and is the most common for Beta/Beta households. However, many B/B couples also have one parent be the stay at home one. It depends on the individual and statistics show that it’s almost a 50% 50% on which Beta stays home in B/B couples processing a man and woman. (The statistic is 51% Woman, 49% men.) Beta’s are often thought to be the 'parents that don’t care much,’ which is absolutely not true. A stay at home Beta parent works just as hard to make sure their pup is taken care of. Perfectly balancing out their protective and nurturing instincts. They know they didn’t poison the food, and know the knives are out are reach. But they are no nonsense with injuries and will take action for the slightest of cut. Infection is always a possibility!

Beta parents who are stay at home or single parents are very diligent in making sure their pup or Kiddie know how to be independent and take care of themsleves. How to do the basics like read and write, then how to cook and clean things correctly. Sometimes, they get so worried about them nit making it into the world, that they don’t let their child do all the fun activities that they want. Like playing an instrument or taking classes for artistry and pottery. But many Beta’s recognize this, and try and fix it. Often with a long talk and apology and gifts. Also, when their pup turns into a kiddie, them gifting them all the hingeded barrettes!

In B/O couples, it depends on the individuals! Though it is shown that: In lesbian couples the Beta tends to stay home, in B/O couples that possess a Omega man and a Beta woman that the male Omega stays home. When it’s switched it’s usually still the Omega that stays home. In gay couples, it’s the Omega again. Though of course, this can very!

Omega: Omega’s are often seen as the main stay at home parents. They are usually seen as the most nurturing due to that being the default Omegan trait. A stay at home/single parent Omega’s are usually very laid back. Many see them as the ones that would usually worry, however this is not the case. Omega parents are the type that will hold their child close when need be. Worry when need be. Why be worried all the time? The pups can feel that energy. Stay at home Omega parents also seem to find it easier to keep track of their pups/kiddies if they are getting into trouble. This is due to their increased hearing. They can hear almost everything their little one is getting up to. But that doesn’t mean they never worry or are overprotective. In fact they’ll constantly check if their pup/kiddie/child is okay by simple things like cuddling. They’ll cuddle their little ones over and over to check over them. Which can get their kids probably annoyed.

Omegas will teach their pup how to nest, and will bond with them with it. Or if they get to the age where they don’t want to nest, will constantly drag them in to watch a movie with them. They also will constantly reassure their child, they don’t want them feeling bad, though sometimes they can go overboard. Many Omega’s mistakes with child raising is giving into what their child wants too much, especially if they’re Kiddies. Which can give problems in the future. Though it’s hard to stop it, many try to stop saying ‘Yes,’ to everything their pup/kiddie wants. Omegas also seem to know when they’re child is upset, and are far more sensitive to their child’s emotions, and will try and fix it. Giving them blankets and stones and cute little stuffed animals to make them cheer up and not feel as void!

In O/O couples that possess a man and woman, they actually switch like B/B couples. Taking turns and switching out. And it seems to carry on the pattern even if it’s a MlM, WlW or NBlM or F. They tend to switch places and rotate who takes care of their pup/kiddie. Of course, there’s always exceptions but this is the most common pattern amongst O/O couples.

That was a lot- aaa, hope y’all enjoyed!

Okay so in my third Omegaverse au headcanon, they have ears and a tail. But I still think they will raise their hands up on their heads to simulate ears when pretending. It’s just a “aye I forget I have these lol,” type things.

Setting is the broad term to describe the dynamics instinctual homing behaviors. (Denning, Nesting, Cocooning)

The main traits that distinguish each is:

Denning usually occupies two rooms, and it’s usually with one room inside the other

Nesting is an area scented primarily to the ground covered in comfort items for the Omega

Cocooning is a tube/tunnel like structure and is the smallest out of all the Setts

-Alpha’s denning is usually seen as a good thing, but what’s stigmatized is their smaller den that’s inside their bigger den. The smaller den is usually seen as something weak due to having things that the Alpha finds comfort in. So it wasn’t uncommon for Alphas in the older days to hide/keep their smaller dens secure and a secret from everyone else

-Denning structures have most of their scenting in higher places. Like shelves, bed posts, the light switch

-I can just imagine some short Alpha climbing up on the ceiling fan to scent it pfft

-Nests being full of almost every single texture of blankets because a particular Omega likes it

-A Nest having lots of stones and rocks in it because the Omega likes collecting

-kiddies going through phases with their Setts

-Betas chilling on their phone in their Cocoon

-Alpha smaller Dens looking a lot like nests and their friends being okay with it and letting them feel open

-A Beta rolling around in their cocoon to get around

-Cocoons got their name because they were first stood up/hanged like an actual cocoon

-A particular Nest being dark and a little gloomy

-Alpha’s being confused on where to put their Den due to there being so many rooms

-Betas are experts at wrapping usually due to having to wrap rightly for their Sett

-Omega’s having stores upon stores of nesting options!!

-There are scam companies that make super soft blankets but out of toxic materials

-Little small personal businesses that will take an Omega’s order and make it to their standards if they can’t find anything that suits them

-Alpha’s also having small business options.

-These started because of the stigma that Alphas don’t like softer things

-An influx of Alpha denning stores or isles in stores are starting though!

-Beta’s usually are seen having the easiest when it comes for finding supplies

-Many make their Cocoons out of sleeping bags, or both a sleeping bag and a blanket!

-Though finding the right blanket can be challenging on its own

-There’s a few businesses though that make “Beta ready Blankets,”

-These blankets were a instant hit for not only Betas but Omegas and even some Alpha

-This is because it’s not only thick, durable, breathable and soft, it’s moldable so it’s easier to cocoon

-Sometimes Omegas, Betas and Alphas that were raised in a close in large family, will show all these behaviors.

-Intersex Dynamics also show these behaviors

-Sometimes it’s 50/50/50 and sometimes it’s 20/50/30 or 50/20/20, split between them etc!

-The dynamics getting aggressive/defensive when someone steps/enters/messes with their Sett unannounced

-An Omega mother teaching their pups and kiddies how to nest

-Beta’s helping their kiddies, Omega, Alpha and Beta on their Setts

-Alpha’s buying all these little things for their Alpha child

-Large packs having one large room they just call “Their Sett,” because they all just relax and let loose in there. It’s a combination of a Nest, Den, and Cocoon!

-Having Dens, Nests and Cocoons are a way for the dynamics can de stress and feel safe. And it’s more common these days to see everybody of every dynamic accepting and understanding that

-The Alpha/Omega couple is very sweet together. They love to snuggle up and watch movies together.

-The Omega and Alpha have night jobs so their days are filled with ^

-The Omega is totally into scary movies and will gently hold the Alphas (who gets a lot more scared at such things) through the scary parts.

-Alpha while scared of horror is completely fine with crime shows. Omega likes it too

-There are three main places where they watch movies: the living room couch, the Omega’s nest or the Alpha’s safety den.

-Popcorn, chocolate, and gummy worms are common among these movie days

-Alpha does pester Omega about more healthier snacks though, though a bit hypocritically

-Blankets, scarves and eachother are their things they warm up with

-They totally do movie reviews,,very critically

-They laugh at super old bad take stereotypes in some movies

-Though sometimes these lead to deep personal conversations. It’s okay though, they make sure to comfort the other or eachother.

-Alpha gets ideas for what to buy their Omega by movies sometimes. Same for the other way around though less frequently

-Omega has dedication of steel. They once made their Alpha binge a 5 seasoned, 24 episode per season, horror series in all but 3 days.

-When watching something romantic, they usually find themselves making a move on eachother at the same time. It’s just about who’s fast enough to land the first gesture.

-It isn’t rare to see the two dynamics as friends once they realize that they’re similar

-In Beta predominant packs, they’re half matriarchal and half patriarchal. Meaning they have different hierarchies within the two sexes. Many Female Alphas seem to relate due to they also have the urge to be the leader instead of just second in command.

-Many female Alphas often learn how to be more feminine from their female Beta friends.

-Beta females learning how to be more assertive from their Alpha friend

-Back then when friendships between different dynamics weren’t as open, it wasn’t that “taboo,” for a female Alpha and Betas to be close.

-The other dynamics to still find it a bit odd

-Alphas and Omegas will often go to one of their female Alpha friends for “how to court a Beta” advice because it’s likely they have a female Beta friend.

-Although the friendship isn’t rare, it isn’t common either, more so uncommon.

-Back when school wasn’t as available, many female Betas have learned from their female Alpha friends

-Non-binary and out of the binary Betas and Alphas also may become close.

-Assuming a female Alpha has a female Beta friend or vice versa has rather become a stereotype that neither of the dynamics involved like.

________

Short but sweet

Also! Don’t be afraid to ask me anything!! (I have mine named “thoughts grabber”)

If someone was to ask me what omegaverse dynamics were, It would be:

“Kinda Outdated Wolf, African Wild Dog, Kinda Outdated Wolf,”

and no one can change my mind

So, in my ‘My Main Omegaverse AU,’ I talked about Alpha’s dens and how they make them for an Omega to nest in them as well as have their own space. However, they can also be used to court a Beta but I wanted to give it its own post

Beta’s cocoon where ever they see fit. And while them cocooning in a Alpha’s den can indicate of accepting the courting the gesture, it doesn’t always. Usually, a way to a Beta’s heart is courting through love languages and gifts. They’re not overly critical or overthinking usually, so when an Alpha comes to them with three large bouquets of flowers, they’re sometimes confused.

But once that happens, a way to see if the Alpha and Beta’s relationship has entered the next stage, is when the Beta cocoons, and it just might be in the Alpha’s den, and it’s on the bed, or chair, or wherever their partner (of any dynamic) may spend the most time resting.

-There is one Alpha in this pack who is 5′1 and is the leader. There are three Omegas, one being 6′3, 5′8 and 5′5. There is a singular Beta who is 5′10. They’re all under 18.

-They often call themselves the ‘Stairs Pack,’ due to their heights.

-When they claimed eachother via inner elbow, it was the Tallest Omega who cried due to pain.

-This pack in particular likes to go camping…they’re all terrible at it.

-Beta is responsible for getting the sticks…they’re often heard cursing out into the woods due to how most have thorns.

-Tallest Omega is responsible for setting the fire…they’re actually pretty good at it! Well..when Beta doesn’t bring back wet sticks..and Omegas and Alpha dont make tons of noise.

-Shortest Omega is in charge of shelter. They SWEAR they have a curse. When it comes to everyone else’s tents, they’re a pro at it. But when it comes to their own tent and Alpha’s tent, they always fail. So they end up having to share. They all don’t mind though.

-Middle height Omega is in charge of food…it’s always bread, crackers and peanut butter with Coca Cola (Coke). Coke is their livelihood.

-Alpha also helps with food…it’s almost always some candy.

-They’re the pack that can’t be separated for long and insiststhat they all sit on the same vertical row on the bus.

-Beta likes to climb trees and scare Alpha by poking them with a stick.

-Tallest Omega likes to just, pick Alpha up due to them being the tallest and the Alpha the shortest.

-Shortest Omega and Middle height Omega are biologically siblings and like to drag Beta out with them for shopping. But they always remember to bring stuff back for the other members.

-They skip school together, and rather go out and do stuff like roller skating or rock climbing. Basically anything to get their adrenaline up.

-Beta is the cuddle bug and likes to cuddle with Tallest Omega.

-They all like to cuddle and snuggle together though.

-Totally the type of pack to sleep over at everyones houses, it’s rare for them to be at their own house without having a pack member with them.

-Alpha likes to invite everyone over.

-Alpha has a look that they give middle height Omega and that’s when they know, they’ll be planning on getting ice cream for the rest of the pack.

-Shortest Omega collects bugs and is good at sewing. So sometimes they’ll recreate the beetle dress that was back in the 1880′s with fake metallic wings.

-Beta and Alpha bonk their heads together a lot to see who’s got the hardest head.

-Middle height Omega concludes they’re both dumbasses.

-They used to be really dumb as smaller kids and kneel down, and one of them would actually walk along their backs like stairs.

-Alpha gets teased by Tallest Omega about being the shortest a lot, but it’s all in good fun.

-They’re scream singers, and like to jam music in the hours while somewhat screaming,

-Middle Omega is the only decent singer

-Tallest Omega likes to pick pocket everyones parents.

-They’re trouble makers and their parents have kinda accepted it at this point.

-Bachelor packs is a group of masculine and or male individuals. These packs are usually no bigger than 5 and usually develop around 12-16. The time where their puberty and or presenting starts.

-Bachelor packs have a ‘leader,’ who are usually the ones that invited/brought the members together.

-Bachelor packs can have individuals of any dynamic and gender. However, it should be noted that Bachelor packs are most commonly, and mostly seen in males. People who identify as neither boy or girl can also join and form Bachelors. They are often observed as masculine presenting due to testosterone. Sometimes a female, who’s got more teresterone in them will also join a Bachelor pack, but they rarely form them.

-Bachelor packs form a close bond, ones that can be brought down to sibling hood. Rarely are couples seen in these.

-Parents see these packs as something positive if they join the right pack, that is.

-Some gangs have a history of firstly being Bachelor Packs before they expanded.

-Bachelor Packs stop being Bachelor packs if the members have pups with one another. Then it is regarded as a family pack.

-People Often refer to them as male cheetahs, lions, and dolphins. Dolphin being the most common term since male dolphins are very routy.

-Bachelor packs are often known to drift apart once they start to get mates and have pups. Though that doesn’t mean they all do, and some still keep that strong bond even into elder-hood.

-If a Bachelor pack starts to drift it isn’t uncommon for groups of two to form within the pack.

-Often times, a grooms groomsmen are members of their bachelor pack if they have formed one.

-These packs are different from an all male friendship pack. These packs are known to scent not just the wrist but also the arms and ankles. These packs also differ from a friendship pack due to them marking eachother via the elbow.

-Bachelor packs will mark eachother on their inner elbows. How does this work exactly? They’ll scent it before lightly biting, then the next member will scent it and then bite ontop of the previous bite and so on. It’s a weird process to everyone, even to the members. These marks go away in about 2 and a half months.

Nose tapping is in all my omegaverse aus.

Nose tapping is exactly what it sounds like, it’s when individuals will rub and or bump/boop their noses together. This is often a form of greetings in close friendships, relationships and families. It also could be a form of reassurance. Nose taps are also a way to make your bond stronger, since you’re getting close to their scent glands around the area.

It can also help to be able to distinguish their pups and kiddies from others. Whether a strangers or if you have many. While they can see the differences, it’s always good to make sure by scent.

My second and third omegaverse world are pretty much almost the same. The difference however is that my third verse has animal ears and tail but they’re not shifters. Neither are my second world.

These verses are set in a world where modern technology is a thing but so is the instinct to hunt and to sustain yourself in general like with gardening.

Alphas and omegas in this verse, are more based on grey wolves and the more accurate ways of how a pack works. A pack is a family in the same household, some siblings and their spouse may also be living but they almost always have no pups. The children of the active couple will stay for another generation to help raise their siblings up until they’re 3. They then leave to go start their own pack. This happens when they’re around 21 years. Alphas and Omegas have their heats and ruts around every six months.

Alphas have a penis and a knot, regardless of gender. Females have a retractable one as well as the things that make them female. They have scents and males cannot get pregnant generally, but females can impregnate as well as get pregnant. Alphas are generally the tallest and have the best leg strength of the dynamics for travel and sharpest teeth.

Alphas in verse three, have ears and tail. Their finger and toe nails are short.

Omegas are categorized as having a uterus regardless of gender, males have a penis. Males have a small chest that’ll grow to A cups when having a pup. Females can get pregnant but can’t impregnate generally, while males can do both of these things. Omegas have scents and are generally the smallest. However they have the best arm strength - due to having to carry many pups around.

Omegas in verse three have ears and tail that are the fluffiest. Their finger nails are the longest while their toenails are the shortest.

Betas! Betas in this verse are instead more based on African Wild Dogs! (While in my main/first world it’s a mix between a wolf and African wolf dog). However, this doesn’t mean they can’t breed with the other dynamics. (African wild dogs and wolves cannot crossbreed as far as I’m aware.) Betas have no heat or rut, and no knots, their reproductive anatomy is closest to us humans. Their scents are more dulled than their counterparts. (Like the animal they’re based on). Betas are extremely social however and have the best stamina and endurance for hunting and travel. Their generally the second tallest and have the best noses.

In verse 3, they have large ears and tails. Their tails and ears are spotted and their tails have white tips at the end. They use this to attract prey, usually water fowl. (Got this from the Duck Tolling retriever). Their nails are the shortest and their toenails are the longest. This helps them run a faster.

@o0venuzzle0o - “Yay!! Do you think you could tell us a bit about denning headcanons?”

Of course!!

Denning Headcanons

  • Denning is mostly taken care of by omegas as apart of their nesting routine
  • While getting a den prepared the omega will focus on what the needs for the pack are (e.x., getting a nursery prepared or reorganizing how things are stored in the kitchen)
  • For the most part denning is apart of regular life and routine cleaning
  • Omegas will get extremely upset if the den becomes a hug mess, especially if they just cleaned and organized
  • Betas will do their best to help keep the den in over, especially when taking care of pups. Usually just spot cleaning or reorganizing the way things to look like the omega did
  • Pups are the main reason a den becomes a mess which makes it hard to get upset over but it can surely be annoying
  • When first looking for a den, omegas will be the one to have final say over it, always picking out the one that will best suit the packs currents needs
  • Most packs will relocate to a new den about every 10 years to keep up with pack sizes changing and other needs
  • Dens tend to be created fairly far away from each other in order to prevent different packs from fighting
  • Omegas will often create spaces in the den to match what the pack like (e.x., an art studio or super large and fancy kitchen)
  • Alphas will help with large denning task such as moving furniture around but only do it if the omega tells them
  • If there’s multiple omegas in the pack they will often argue over what the den should look like and where should go where
