Well, your coke habit would explain why you thought it was appropriate to post such a status update…

reading the wiki for the american psycho movie every single thing it’s saying about christian bale has me in tears …….. he literally wanted the role so bad he got that buff in two weeks, rejected every other offer for 9 months while the producers tried to get dicaprio to be patrick bateman bc bale knew dicaprio would chicken out, went to dinner with the director and the guy who wrote the novel IN CHARACTER apparently scaring the shit out of the novelist, took the role for $50k, and then made all his costars think he was a giant freak bc he never fucking broke character, and APARENTLY LITERALLY HAS CONTROL OVER HIS SWEAT GLANDS AND USED THIS IN THE BUSINESS CARD SCENE

ok thanks for the info wiki

Patrick Bateman x Reader

Words: 500

Living in a house with a nice garden was always a big dream of yours.

To see the flowers bloom after winter always warmed your heart you just wished to see your own garden bloom like the ones you always saw.

You wanted your hydrangea bush, roses, and all the flowers you could get your hands on, trees, a nice cherry blossom tree that would have gorgeous flowers during spring.

You craved it so badly, you always worked hard so you could just get that, a house, a garden a possibly a dog.

And yet somehow there you were, living in an apartment, well more like a penthouse with your boyfriend, Patrick.

He was controlling, you knew that, Patrick was… special. You noticed the small things about him. You saw how he went from smiling to a frown in less then a fraction of a second whenever he turned his back to his ‘friends’ or colleagues.

Even with you, you caught him doing it a couple times. But somehow it was still different.

Because with you at least he cared, Patrick was extremely possessive. He hated seeing you in short skirts in public. He hated the thought of other men seeing you like that. It was for his eyes only.

You were convinced he never listened to you, that he only cared about his public image. Because he did say nice things to you but never in private. He only showed some fraction of affection. Just to ensure in the public eye that you were his.

Not to say that he was rough or rude in private, he was just more… reserved? He kept to himself. He was rather quiet. He liked to work out. And your sex life was also very very active.

“Tomorrow, meet me during your lunch break, meet me at the park close to your building.”

You were surprised to hear that. Patrick usually went out to eat with his colleagues to eat. But you weren’t dumb, you of course agreed.

Next day, you headed to the park, only to see Patrick checking his watch before he looked up and spotted you.

He guided you to a perfectly set up picknick under a beautifully blooming tree.

“You said you like flowers…so…” he then stayed silent and sat down on the blanket he put out. You could only assume how hard was it for him to sit on the dirtyfloor. You also sat down only to have Patrick pull you close to his side. “You just wait. I will get us a house, with a big garden.”

You knew better than to tease him or to reply, so you just nodded.

You enjoyed your lunch break you would have to go back way too early.

“A big garden so our kids can run around in.” that almost made you choke on your sandwich. You looked at him, wide eyed.

“Kids?” you didn’t expect a reply, and you for sure didn’t get one. But you didn’t one either.

alanprickman:

In ‘87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is “Hip to be Square”, a song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it’s also a personal statement about the band itself.

Media that technically isn’t gay but feels really gay for one readon or another:

  • Dead Poets Society: This is genuinely one of my favorite movies of all time. I can’t put it properly into words but it’s so good. If you don’t know the plot, here it is: The year is 1959. Our main characters are Neil Perry and Todd Anderson. They go to the same school and both are very interested in stuff like poetry and acting. Todd is very socially anxious and Neil and the school’s new English teacher help him come out of his shell. Neil is deeply afraid of his father who doesn’t accept his interest in theatre. Also there’s other sideplots but they aren’t really gay, so they don’t matter right now. The movie is so full of gay stuff, oh my god. Also it’s incredibly heartbreaking so y'know.
  • High School Musical 2: If you know you know. In the HSM franchise in general, there’s a lot of gay (and bisexual) symbolism going on, but HSM 2 really takes it a bit further. Most notably there are all the scenes with Chad and Ryan in them, like the legendary song I Don’t Dance. And the clothes swap of course. Don’t worry, you don’t even need to watch the first movie to watch this one so go check it out if you can. Also the director and Ryan’s actor agree that Ryan is gay, but Disney didn’t let the director make it explicit.
  • Fight Club: This book’s/movie’ gayness is hard to explain. A lot of people have told it better than I can. There’s a lot of commentary on stuff like toxic masculinity and stuff. Also the book is so much gayer. The author is gay and if I remember correctly, he wantdd to write a book that is as gay as possible without being so gay, that it wouldn’t get read.
  • Ace Attorney: I recommend watching the “Based on Gay Manga” video if you want more info on the queerness of the main characters. But basically the creators noticed that people are shipping the main characters so they made it a bit gayer than it was originally intended to be. I don’t feel like summing up the plot but you are a öawyer (Phoenix Wright) and you object a lot.
  • American Psycho: I actually don’t have an explanation as to why this feels so gay. It just does. But the author is MLM so that probably has something to do with it? (Maybe I’ve just read a lot of gay books written in the same style.) Also there’s one gay character but he’s as awful as everyone else. #Equality. Though warning for A LOT of slurs. I personally like the book more but the movie is great too.

Jonathan Bailey wanted to be an actor after seeing “Oliver” at the age of 5. A year later he auditioned and won his first professional role - Tiny Tim in Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of of “A Christmas Carol”. In 2012 he was cast in the starring role of a BBC production about Leonardo da Vinci as a teen.

Back to his stage roots, Bailey worked with Matt Smith in the musical “American Psycho” on the West End (2013) and with Ian McKellen in “King Lear” (2017).

Bailey is gay. He first met McKellen as a teenager at a 2006 Gay Pride event.

Years later, speaking with Ian McKellen, he said:

“I was coming to terms with my own sexuality, I hadn’t necessarily hidden it, but I’ve never been not honest about it. It’s just there had never been a need to talk about it. There’s a sense of shame, I think.”

Bailey won an Olivier Award (Best Actor in a Supporting Role) for the role of Jamie in the musical “Company” (2019). The role of Jamie was original written as Amy, but the character was redefined as a gay man (with permission by author Stephen Sondheim).

In his acceptance speech Bailey addressed a controversy regarding LGBT students in the UK school system:

“At a time where acknowledging the very existence of LGBT+ people in our schools is being questioned, we have been able to, as a company, show a lovely and celebratory snapshot of gay love. LGBT People really aren’t that different; we’re not that different. We’re just as anxious, and we’re just as flawed and desperate to fall in love as everyone else.”

In 2020, he reached international audiences in Netflix’s series “Bridgerton” as the Anthony Bridgerton.

Bailey is reported to be in a relationship but prefer to keep his private life out of the public eye.

new52s:

There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better world for anyone. In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape. But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis; my punishment continues to elude me, and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.
