i-have-a-knife:

Could someone please explain the difference between bisexual, omnisexual, polysexual, and pansexual. I’m not trying to be rude just trying to figure things out.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO REPLIED TO THIS! It was very helpful to me. I’m pretty sure I’m bisexual. :)

Sooooo…

I came out to my sister on the weekend and it went a little like this:

Sister: So, how are your new bifocals going?

Me: *Laughs to self* gooood…

Sister: Okay? Why are you laughing?

Me: I wanted to tell a joke but…

Sister: Tell me!

Me: *pauses* I was gonna say “you know what else is bi?”

She just stared at me for a bit and asked me “really?” But she’s pretty okay with it

She promises not to tell my parents so that’s great :)

So now she knows I simp for female anime characters too yayyy

(p.s. my favorite LGBTQ joke is that I’m not gay or straight, I’m just graight)

100gayicons:

Congratulations to Carl Nassib who publicly announce he was gay during Gay Pride Month 2021. This makes him the first active NFL football player to announce he was a homosexual.

Although other NFL players have revealed they were gay after retiring, such as Dave Kopay and Michael Sam, Nassib is the first to still be playing (a defensive end for alas Vegas’ Raiders).

Reaction has been supportive, from the NFL, the Raiders, and teammates. The public showed it support by buying jerseys with Nassib’s name and number - out selling all other jerseys the day of his announcement.

Nassib plans to donate $100,000 to The Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to providing crisis intervention to LGBTQ youth.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

“I don’t like labels but if you have to put a label on it, I’m a gay man.”

Actor Joel Grey’s best known role is that of the Master of Ceromonies in the musical “Cabaret”. He originated the role in 1966 on Broadway and won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He reprised the role in the 1972 film by Bob Fosse, winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. And he appeared in the 1987 revival of the musical on Broadway. His long career spans over 55 years with roles on Broadway, movies, and television.

Grey knew he was gay at an early age, but a boy in the 1950s would think about coming out. Homosexuals were considered sick, and labeled queers, fags, and fagelehs — a Yiddish for little birds.

But Grey was forced to come out to his parents at the age of 16. Still in high school, he had been having an affair with then still in high school, had to reveal to his parents that he had been having an affair with a handsome young cantor (a Jewish clergy member) of their synagogue in Los Angeles. His wife had found out and Grey might be named in the divorce proceeds. While his father was supporting - his mother was not. When he reached out to her, she said, “Don’t ever touch me again, you disgust me.”

A therapist told him that it was a “stage” - something he would get over. And so began the process of concealing his real identity.

When he met his future wife, Jo Wilder, he felt he truly liver her. They had 2 children, including his daughter actress Jennifer Grey. During his marriage, he continued to have sex with men. He rationalize by saying to himself that because it was with men, He wasn’t being unfaithful to his wife.

“But if I had been honest, I would have asked myself what these moments with men truly meant.”

Finally in 1981, Grey opened up and told his wife that he was gay. They divorced a year later. Then in 2015 at the age of 83, he came out publicly in an interview with People Magazine. He followed this up with an autobiography, “Master of Ceromonies: a memoir”.

He explained that the people who were close to him have known for years he was gay. His children have been supportive, daughter Jennifer said, “I feel very happy for my dad that he has come to a point in his life where he feels safe and comfortable enough to declare himself in a public way as a gay man.”

As for Grey, after coming out he said:

“I was the same person — but better, for having no secrets.”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Jonathan Bailey wanted to be an actor after seeing “Oliver” at the age of 5. A year later he auditioned and won his first professional role - Tiny Tim in Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of of “A Christmas Carol”. In 2012 he was cast in the starring role of a BBC production about Leonardo da Vinci as a teen.

Back to his stage roots, Bailey worked with Matt Smith in the musical “American Psycho” on the West End (2013) and with Ian McKellen in “King Lear” (2017).

Bailey is gay. He first met McKellen as a teenager at a 2006 Gay Pride event.

Years later, speaking with Ian McKellen, he said:

“I was coming to terms with my own sexuality, I hadn’t necessarily hidden it, but I’ve never been not honest about it. It’s just there had never been a need to talk about it. There’s a sense of shame, I think.”

Bailey won an Olivier Award (Best Actor in a Supporting Role) for the role of Jamie in the musical “Company” (2019). The role of Jamie was original written as Amy, but the character was redefined as a gay man (with permission by author Stephen Sondheim).

In his acceptance speech Bailey addressed a controversy regarding LGBT students in the UK school system:

“At a time where acknowledging the very existence of LGBT+ people in our schools is being questioned, we have been able to, as a company, show a lovely and celebratory snapshot of gay love. LGBT People really aren’t that different; we’re not that different. We’re just as anxious, and we’re just as flawed and desperate to fall in love as everyone else.”

In 2020, he reached international audiences in Netflix’s series “Bridgerton” as the Anthony Bridgerton.

Bailey is reported to be in a relationship but prefer to keep his private life out of the public eye.

I’m making this brief return to tell you guys about something that happened.

So, I was obviously feeling a bit down from my breakup, and my mum noticed. I was doing relatively alright until she asked what was wrong and if I was okay. So I just broke down a bit and she comforted me.

This woman straight up said: “So you two broke up.”

Keep in mind, I’m not out to her and she wasn’t even supposed to know I was dating someone. After I collect myself, I say: “I don’t still need to come out, do I?”

She laughed so hard she was sitting on the floor with literal tears streaming down her face. And you know what she said next? She said: “I may act oblivious, but I’m not stupid. You should see the way your eyes light up whenever you talk about your ‘friend’.”

Me, half-joking: “I’m sorry, I just don’t like men in that way.”

My mum: *jokingly* “you’re not really gay, you just haven’t found the right man, yet.” *can’t take herself seriously and snorts*

So that’s how I came out to my mum.

Note: my mum was joking on the last part, she’s totally supportive.

Awww I cant even(:♡

That’s such a good question!!!! Bravo!!~

So naturally, it ALLLL started when I was a teeny tiny bambino!! Of course, it’s strange that nations have genders in the first place, but regardless, I was poofed into existence in a female body. Ya kno’ how society is, dresses and all that junk! I mean yeah!! Dresses are pretty and lovely and swooshy in the wind!! But some people don’t wanna wear them so it’s kinda silly.

When I got older, like being a teenager, I still felt sorta normalish. So-so and all that mediocre jazz! I did wonder why the girl’s uniforms were all swooshy and had skirts on em’. You wouldn’t believe the number of rips and tears that I had to fix after returning from the front lines!! ughh, not fun at all!!! bleh~

But my REAL gripes with the clothing choices started happening when I became an adult. Or, however ageing works for us nations, even I’m a bit confused by it all. whoops!! Ok so The shirts had these stupid lil holes for the cleavage, ya see??? But I felt like the only girl who didn’t understand?? I mean when Hungary wore stuff like this she was super cute and also seemed super fine with it?? My boobs were cold and I felt defenceless!! eeek!!

This is the same time as me and Mr.Germany, or Ludwig as I call him, started being a thing!! Like, a thing, as in, mwah mwah!! Kissy kissy!! That kinda stuff!! Yeah, so anyways, that happened alright!

But I felt weirdly icky about being his “girlfriend”. Not because I didn’t love him with all the passion in my strong, Italian heart, It’s just that whenever he’d call me bellissima or put his hand on my waist (which for boring n’ tough ol’ Germany wasn’t very often) it felt..ahh I don’t know?? icky!? ahh~

I told him about everything!! Every last word!! And you know I talk a lot so I’m sure I didn’t forget anything! But he had no idea!! None!! Like I said how it’s sorta weird when he calls me his girly-friendy. He just said somethin like “what, should I call you my boyfriend instead??” and of course since the terms “Transgender” and “LGBT” hadn’t been invented by some awesome person yet, we laughed it off sorta? Though I didn’t feel very funny about it  I mean these feelings of mine only got weirder as the decades went on, seriously!~

But then, in the faaaar future, something happened! So far you couldn’t even take an afternoon drive to it!!That thingy-ma-bob was… THE INTERNET!! It was so cool!!!!! You could surf it and see all the best kinds of pictures and words that people wrote!! Like these ones I’m writing on my tumblr blog!! And speaking of tumblr!! Without it, I wouldn’t have found out what the heck these feelings are called!!! I woulda been stuck like an Italian in the desert who can’t tie his shoes!!..oh wait, that’s me!! exactly!! ahaha~

So,grazie!!! That means, for the non-Italians who follow me, thank you!! Thank you to everyone on this cool, fantastic blue website!!~

How to explain facial hair growth from minoxidil use to parent without coming out to them

If you need a way to come out without confronting someone, this may be a good way to do it! It only applies to gay unfortunately but I’m sure it can still be very useful.

Hey guys! I just came out to my dad earlier. Let’s just say he wasn’t very happy. So to all of you who’s parents don’t approve, keep your head up and live life just as you always did. If not, live it better!

With love, ~Caitlin.

Hey guys! Today I was talking to some of my friends and the subject came up about coming out. My one friend came out as bi to me and I never realized she was bi! Then a chain of my friends started coming out to me. I never realized I had a bi friend, three gay friends, and a demi friend! Afterwards I came out to them as pan and we all laughed together. We feel closer than ever.

You guys who haven’t come out to anyone yet, you aren’t alone, and you should try to come out! Coming out is an amazing feeling, you’ll feel like a new, better person. Love you guys! <3
