Hi,@mrs-iruka! This is my little KakaIruYama gift for you ♥ and for the Springtime of romance exchange event, organized by the @kakairu-discord-server! I only used “aquamarine”, but I think I got most of the tropes covered~ I hope you like it!

Things I needed to git gud at in order to pull this piece off -
- anatomy
- figure out my digital brushes. When I first started I only had 1-2 brushes I really used. Starting to build a library of them now.
- Composition. I started this as a square, wtf was I thinking?
- Iighting and shadows, esp. at twilight. Very different affect than say noon.
- The power of simplifying your rendering into shapes
- My workflow…I started it all on one layer, which is great for rendering, not good for simplifying!
- subsurface scattering and how to do it digitally
- color palette of skies at different times of day/night
- light at different times of day - did you know there’s very little green light at twilight? There’s more green at dawn.
- How to draw epic clouds. I used to fake it by putting in a photo off the internet. Now I can actually draw them myself!
If folks are interested, I can try to turn some of the bullets into tutorials. Lmk which ones you’re most interested in!
