Wilson Morales: Whatever happened with The Knick? No news has been given regarding a third season.

Andre Holland: I think that the plan is that they will bring it back next year. I don’t know when that will be or if that will involve me. They are still working out the details, but it was a great part. I really loved playing it. I learned so much from Soderbergh and Clive (Owen) and it’s a show that I would love to come back to. Maybe there will be a way for me to come back to.

I was reading my THR this morning and saw this part about pilot season.

Who’s the actor everyone was after but nobody landed?

DAVIS Idris Elba.
B. KLEIN Alison Brie on comedy and drama.
S. KLEIN Rose Byrne just had a baby but somehow was still getting offers! Craig Robinson (The Office) — everybody wants a funny guy, and he was offered everything. [He chose to recur on USA’s Mr. Robot.] I gave four or five offers to Alison Brie.
SANCHEZAndre Holland (The Knick). He’s passed on everything — comedy and drama. We’ve definitely made offers to Alison Brie, Craig Robinson and O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), too.
WU We must have made Alison Brie at least three offers. We made some offers to Leighton Meester.

MOONLIGHT (Barry Jenkins, 2016)

Moonlight is a beautifully filmed and flawlessly acted story of self-discovery. It seriously deserves to win Best Picture and Best Director this coming Sunday with and Mahershala Ali and  Naomie Harris also getting awards for their acting.

“If Hollywood still made the loquacious screwball comedies that dominated the 1930s and ‘40s, André Holland would be an ideal choice to lead them. At several key instances in High Flying Bird, director/cinematographer Steven Soderbergh simply fixes his camera—in this case, an iPhone—on Holland as the actor delectates in the rapturous delivery of one of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s fantastically florid monologues. Holland is ideally cast here as a dynamic sports agent sowing the seeds of rebellion during an NBA lockout, not just because the actor remains a veritable wellspring of charisma, but because he is uniquely gifted at harnessing breakneck dialogue to reveal psychological nuance through purposeful emphases and odd, seemingly off-the-cuff cadences. He creates an idiosyncratic character beneath, on top of, and in between the lines of the script, often while wearing the irresistible grin of a born talker—and performer—who knows his mind is always ten steps ahead of even the worthiest sparring partner.” — Matthew Eng
