LIVE

Satirical reality. This film depicts how the government focus on things they could benefit from. The priorities or we should say “the people” were the ones who were at risk. It is that, when someone speak, we should listen. I love how this film ends, everyone ended up dying lmao because of selfishness. However, this film talks about a lot of issues: family, entertainment industry, relationships, disaster, government plans, people rioting, sciences and maths, end of the world etc.

Don’t Look Up (2021)

Mark Rylance has offered a rare bit of insight into Spielberg’s on-hold project The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara

The film, which details the 19th Century kidnapping by the Catholic Church of the Jewish child Edgardo Mortara, was set to be Spielberg’s follow-up to Ready Player One

Sets were built and Rylance was cast, but Spielberg struggled to find a young actor to play Mortara himself. Production eventually stalled and Spielberg moved on to The Postinstead.

Rylance is still unclear on whether the film will actually happen or not, but in this video he speaks about Spielberg’s enthusiasm for the project and Tony Kushner’s script.

The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara is based on the historical study by David Kertzner, who tweeted this interview

The Outfit (2022)

Director - Graham Moore, Cinematography - Dick Pope

“If you don’t aim for perfection, you cannot make anything great. And yet, true perfection is impossible.”

If you’re not watching WOLF HALL, you should be, and here’s why: Mark Rylance as Thomas Cromwell is the Supreme Ruler of Giving Absolutely Zero Fucks and you could learn so much from him.

Ithought I gave zero fucks.

After watching WOLF HALL, I realize I was wrong. I was SO goddamn wrong. I’ve been giving way too many fucks.

We are all but squires.

And Mark Rylance is William fucking Marshal.

Here he is, failing to find any fucks after doing a quick scan of the floor.

Sassmaster Cromwell, First of His Name, Father of Being 100% Done.

image

“What’s in this leather satchel? Oh, just my PhD in Giving Zero Fucks.”

image

Just doing a cursory check of His Majesty’s brocade vest to see if he left any fucks in there (he didn’t).

image

Looking directly into camera, attempting to locate any fucks a la Jim Halpert.

image

Trying, and failing, to find even one single fuck to give.

image

Foreground there just insulted him and he’s just like, “Bruh. You have no chill.”

image

“You were looking for someone who gave a fuck?”

image

The other dudes are giving all their available fucks away like candy on Halloween; meanwhile Cromwell’s all, “When will my fucks return from the war?”

image

“These are the books where I record all the fucks I give. They’re empty, FYI.

Bonus Cromwell:

Were you also maybe looking for swagger? Well, you fucking found it here too.

bespokeredmayne:

Poring over so many sad and frustrated messages today from those who love and appreciate Eddie, I have a couple thoughts:

1. Eddie won in a tough field in 2015, where talent and performance reigned, and no one knew until his name was announced that he had pulled out the Oscar win. His Oscar is not tainted by a deep diversity controversy nor by being awarded through a sense of pity or entitlement.

2. Think about last September and the speculation of who would be nominated. Jake Gyllenhaal had a couple highly touted films, and Johnny Depp was thought to be a shoo-in for Black Mass. And there were so many others mentioned along the way. Eddie was one of five who was nominated – and for the second consecutive year. That is a major achievement and honor in itself.

3. And take pleasure in the Best Supporting Actor award to Mark Rylance. His was based on pure performance. He didn’t campaign (he was working too hard to do so), he was not well-known among Oscars voters, and he was in a race with a sentimental, emotional favorite – who again, was being touted because his Oscar was “long overdue.” Mark Rylance beat all the odds. And best of all, he cast Eddie in his first big professional break, in Twelfth Night.

To add to that, as far as I understand if I`m not mistaken (I didn`t check but I`m pretty sure Rylance has got both Tony and Laurence Olivier), Mark Rylance just became the third actor ever to have won all four acting awards in English language world. The first two being Eddie and Kevin Spacey.
