Beautiful butterflies ….
macklowe gallery description: French Art Nouveau 18k gold and enamel brooch with topaz and diamonds. The brooch has a hexagonal-cut topaz, and contains 124 rose and old European cut diamonds. The centre topaz is flanked by dimensional enamelled butterflies. The moveable wings are decorated with realistic gold veining, plique-à-jour and translucent enamel, and are edged with diamonds. Circa 1900.
