Artist Problems: Sometimes the worst happens and your fancy schmancy art supplies DRY UP. Last night I discovered seven ruined bottles of ink. Having a brief moment of silence for my wallet.

Yotsuba’s first time in an art supply store.

Recognize that awe

Just ordered a new bottle of ink, some fine liners, a brush pen, and a mechanical pencil (I had to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to qualify for free shipping ;A;) from Jetpens. If you have an art or office supplies addiction I suggest you never visit this store because you will be broke before you even know what happened.

They should get here in 10 days and I am just so exxxcite :D!

Hey guys I found Worbla in a store called Manhattan Wardrobe Supply. They also have Wonderflex. It’s in NYC just to let everyone know, especially NYC cosplayers and cosplayers visiting the area.

cherngzhi:

At 44% and $22,000 into this Kickstarter project, I am reminded of running the marathon. At 44% into the distance, pain set in, insecurity permeates and you began to see the Kenyans dashing for their titles. The winners are so far ahead and there are so many runners AHEAD of you. But If you lose sight of Your purpose in running? You lose everything. So I looked around me and I saw the runners among me. The cancer survivors, the people who lose their legs, the elderly and those who were just like me. I just ran and eventually I finished. I finished at 4 hours and 55 minutes. Pheidippides died from this distance but I didn’t. 24.85 mile in total I clocked… Now we have $28,000 left to go to make the perfect sketchbook and I think we can finish. Go back now. www.theperfectsketchbook.com

Again, let’s help Erwin make this insanely cool bespoke sketchbook.

You might remember that I managed to buy a small Line-O-Scribe in the summer of 2020. Even better in May 2021, I finally got my hands on a barely used Line-O-Scribe.

This was a long process that started with a post on Briar Press before Thanksgiving 2020 by the seller. Then silence. Then I found out the seller got COVID and was recovering. Then a few months later we got the whole thing going and a 100lb box arrived outside my apartment from Oklahoma.

The press was beautifully packed and just as lovely as described. Added bonus, it came with an ink plate and the original business card of the salesman who sold this very press around 70 years ago.

I suddenly wanted to swatch all my professional-grade watercolors. No particular order except at first I kept the same brands together. The unknowns are four unlabelled blobs in a separate palette from quite a while ago, maybe at an art demo that gave samples; I wish I knew what they were. Strange that the burnt sienna tube and pan look so different.

I love trying new colors, there are so many that look pretty but I’d probably never use them. @kohlrabisabi@alihsi do you have any swatches to share?

Uh oh, I’ve been bitten by the art supply buying bug again. An innocent purchase of one paint tube, one pen, and a sketchbook has resulted in me buying another sketchbook, a bunch of empty half pans, and glitter watercolor paper. Do I need it? No. But it’s hot press and sparkly and … now I don’t know what to paint on it. Good effort, translation app, but I don’t think that’s quite right.
