Se supone que la vida, la auténtica vida, es una lucha, una acción y una afirmación inagotable, la voluntad embistiendo con su cabeza roma contra la pared del mundo, cosas por el estilo, pero cuando vuelvo la vista atrás me doy cuenta de que la mayor parte de mis energías se dedicaron siempre a la simple búsqueda de cobijo, de comodidad, de, sí, lo admito, un rincón acogedor. Comprenderlo se me hace sorprendente, por no decir escandaloso. Antes me veía como una especie de bucanero, enfrentándome a todo el que se me ponía a tiro con un alfanje entre los dientes, pero ahora me veo obligado a reconocer que me engañaba. Esconderme, protegerme, guarecerme, eso es todo lo que realmente he querido siempre, amadrigarme en un lugar de calor uterino y quedarme allí encogido, oculto de la indiferente mirada del sol y de la severa erosión del aire. Por eso el pasado supone para mí un refugio, allí voy de buena gana, me froto las manos y me sacudo el frío presente y el frío futuro. Y no obstante, ¿Cuál es la verdadera existencia del pasado? Después de todo, no es más que lo que fue el presente una vez el presente ya ha pasado, no más que eso.⠀

Inktober 2019 - Day 5: Build.
There’s nothing more important in a relationship than building a foundation of trust, and letting to let someone in. Trusting them enough to see you as you are, flaws and all.
I have a feeling something happened to Judy, and Nick lost his temper on her behalf, and she saw it. Comfort comes in many forms, not just when someone is sad. Here, Judy is comforting Nick, calming his anger, helping him know that she’s okay and that there’s no need for him to be upset on her behalf. Nick, is learning to trust that she is far stronger than she appears.

Sorry it took me so long to get this one done, folks. Weekends are crazy busy for me. :) That and I realized I hate drawing swings. >.>
For this prompt, I thought it would be really sweet to draw Nick and Judy just enjoying each other’s company on a porch swing. And of course, Nick is giving his sweetheart a flower ;)
