Wanted to play with different easy and quick battle damage methods a while back so I picked up a leman Russ kit (because I can never have too many…). I decided to go with a demolisher since out of any of the variants I felt they would be the most up close and personal.

Then I got carried away haha. I raised my bits box for any little thing I could throw on there. It was then that j discovered that the bullgryn kit is amazing for dressing up tanks. The slab shields sit on the outside of the sponsons perfectly, the combat shields work well on the side of the turret, the tank treads on the armor can be cut off and added, there are tons of shells and gas cans, etc etc. Then I just did some simple bullet holes and heat singes etc to play with the painting. Result is above.

Meet “Lil’ Chomper”, Leman Russ Demolisher of the 7th Tracian Armored Regiment, the “Iron Tide”

So bullgryns and ratlings. These guys are member of the 14th Tracian Irregular Infantry Regiment. The regiment is comprised of various abhumans that inhabit the system and criminals with light charges who chose service in military over the mines. Currently it is made up of 9 bullgryns, 6 ogryns, a roughly sized platoon of psykers and command, unit of ratlings and a platoon of lightly armed and armored cadians/catachans.

The orgyns are inhabitants of one of Tracia Primes moons where they are used as miners. The ratlings hail from Tracia Secondus, particularly from the city of Shier, a notorious hideout of thieves, pirates, and thugs that hire them for their stealth and size. The Camazotz (a breed of nightsiders) can be found in the depths of the one of the many hive cities that dot the system and are used for night infiltration.

Members of the Tracian Military who are sanctioned psykers are grouped together into a two company within the Irregulars and are then detached to different regiments throughout the army at large. This is typical of the entire regiments. Rather than fight as a whole, squads, platoons and even entire companies are attached to other regiments as the need arises.

A Scion model I painted a long time ago. He represents a member of the 75th Elite Infantry Regiment currently composed of two 2 10 man squad platoons of scions, a 3 10 man squad platoon of kasrkin models, and a squad of the old Stormtroopers. Have three tauroxs too. I have to say I hated the look of the tauroxs when they came out until I actually bought one and now I’m a huge fan.

agent-monkeywrench:

Ordo Hybris Agent in Null city covert ops attire.

Operation “Naked Drake” was a mission conceived during a recaf break at a Xenos Hybris strategy meeting in which several low level Inquisitors conspired to bury an asset, fearing his vast knowledge of current clandestine operations or begrudging his refusal to submit to their authority.

Despite their issues with the asset he was regularly effective and thus had proponents within the Hybris, so simply eliminating him wasn’t an immediate option. Under the guise of an intelligence gathering mission the asset known to most only as “Agent” was ordered to infiltrate the Dark City of Commorragh.

Recognizing the death sentence for what it was the Agent began plotting and calculating, calling in every owed favor and exhausting every hoarded and pilfered resource at his disposal to lay the ground work of a much more ambitious plan than his superiors, friend or foe, could anticipate.

The 13th Penal Legion of the Imperial Guard, also known as the “Last Chancers,” is a special regiment composed of Imperial criminals and convicts. All the men and women of the Last Chancers are hand-picked by the fiercely uncompromising Colonel Schaeffer for the performance of suicide missions on behalf of the Imperium of Mankind throughout the galaxy. However, rather than being simply a general punishment unit aimed at achieving the redemption of all the souls unlucky enough to enter its ranks, the 13th Penal Legion is specifically used to create elite squads of soldiers for use in extremely hazardous, top-secret special operations missions. It is particularly notable for achieving the destruction of Coritanorum, the assassination of Tau Commander Brightsword and also the assassination of the traitorous Overlord of Armageddon, Herman von Strab.

Members of the Last Chancers are all convicted criminals facing various punishments. While most of those inducted into the 13th Penal Legion are done so at the deliberate behest of Colonel Schaeffer, a small minority are random transfers. All are given one ‘last chance’ at redemption by fighting in the worst combat zones possible. If they manage to survive an unspecified number of these missions, they earn a pardon, being forgiven their crimes in the eyes of the Emperor. A Last Chancer who dies fulfilling his duty is pardoned posthumously by the Colonel, who takes it upon himself to provide redemption to all of his troops, sometimes by his own hand.

Legion is composed of a motley assortment of criminals, recidivists, malcontents, madmen, and assorted detritus from the most hardened military prisons kept by the Imperial Guard. Every one is hand–picked by Colonel Schaeffer himself and each has some outstanding skill or natural ability that sets them apart from their comrades. Upon accepting Schaeffer’s offer, each new recruit is whisked off to a private, secret penal colony administered by Schaeffer for the sole purpose of raising his 13th Penal Legion. Once there, the recruits spend months training for every kind of mission in every kind of environment imaginable. If the recruit survives with body and wits intact, he is assigned to one of the many small clandestine units organised under the 13th Penal Legion’s aegis.

Unlike the majority of Penal Legions, men and women belonging to groups like Colonel Schaeffer’s 13th Penal Legion and other, similar organisations are remarkably well equipped for groups of incorrigible criminals. Given that such groups are frequently used by their commanders to carry out deadly covert strikes, assassinations, and other underhanded tactics that more conventional regiments would never even attempt, the weapons they carry often pack an incredible punch in a small package, and are well suited to their stealthy and clandestine assignments.
