It’s been years since I’ve looked at this series, and a lot of things have happened in our lives since then. Hey guys! James here! Today, I wanted to give you guys a look at some of the work behind the scenes as I work on “Mimiru!” There is story that needs to be written, and a ton of art to create, but I thought it would be cool to show you some of what I’ve been working on lately!

While this most likely won’t be the final art style for the series, this image gives you an idea of what I’m thinking as I go through the process of bringing this world together! There have been many ideas tossed around and even more redesigns already in how the world should look, and while I’m close to getting it where I want it to be for the characters, I’m still pretty far on the backgrounds themselves.That’s why I really do need help from other artists  This is being done all while I’m making revisions on the 1st episode’s script, and fleshing out concepts for music, so you can image that it’s been pretty tough sometimes!

So, let’s see here, Mimiru, and Kentaro are with a new character! His name is Jay, and they appear to be reading a book! I wonder what it’s about! And what’s up with that look on Jay’s face? Makes me more curious to what part of the story they are at. No spoilers please!

Additionally, I’d like to announce that I am opening voice over auditions for a bunch of new characters that will make it in the first three episodes, many of whom have recurring roles as the show progresses. We will also need volunteers for minor roles as well. A post containing that information will be released tonight!

I hope you stick around, as there are additional developments that I would love to discuss with you all, as we get the ball rolling on what promises to be a fun and exciting production for everyone here!

“In the relaxing town of Suntail, three middle school students are stuck with an assignment over the summer to write their own work of fiction. However, while visiting the town’s old library for inspiration, they stumble upon and open what seems to be an old dusty novel by an unknown author; suddenly, they are magically transported into the world of the story! Where did this book come from? Why was it hidden in a boring town like Suntail? And more importantly, how on earth how do these guys find a way back home? Well, at least the question of inspiration for their story is no longer an issue…”

Run by James Brown, it is currently a side-project being worked on alongside Airheart; production began in March 2015, and is currently ongoing. We are also looking for artists to help bring the world of Mimiru to life! Middle-earth March - Day 21 

There are so many brilliant adaptions of the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, it is easy to pick a favorite. Do you know the animated movie of “The Hobbit” by Rankin/Bass? If not, you should really watch it! Even if it’s just for the landscapes and the music! Rankin/Bass also produced “The Return of the King”, a movie that follows where Bakshi had left off the story in his “Lord of the Rings” adaption. Then of course, there are several amazing audiobook versions of both works. For the Germans among us: If you haven’t yet, go listen to “Der Hobbit”, an audiobook produced by WDR – it’s magical!
