This little interior was started last year in a workshop I ran with the excellent year 10 students at @thekingsschool_official. I finished it this week in time to hang beside my students from the Saturday class I teach at ArtEst. The show opens tomorrow from 6-8pm, all welcome, @artestartschool , 67-69 Lords Rd Leichhardt. Had to fight back a bit of anxiety to show again at Clifton School of Arts with fellow artist Hal Pratt and his lovely watercolours. The opening this last Friday 20 Nov was 5 years to the day that the terrible accident happened. So glad she is still with us and going stronger than ever with her art and family. When you live, always in the same house, with the same suburban landscape cradling your memories, one year becomes another. It’s hard to remember whether it was that year, the same year I bought my first bicycle, the year the willow tree blew down and the man came to cut it up with chainsaw. I measured out my life not in years, but in events. That’s was the year of the art teacher lover and the dragon kite.
