Amanita bisporigera: The Destroying Angel

Hey, so remember when I said I’d be back by the 28th of August? I accepted a fall position, & I’m gonna be in the woods awhile longer! However, I have a little bit more accessibility to The Internet now, and will probably make the rare post now and then. I’ll be back in action more officially on the 22nd of October! :)

[ID: Two loose digital paintings; the first is of a forested mountain with clouds above it, and a wooden sign that reads “IN THERE SOMEWHERE” with an arrow pointing to the mountains. The second is of mossy trees in fog, with a sign that reads “OCT 22ND IS MY NEW RETURN DATE.”]

some watercolor trees! :)

[ID: Two pictures of a traditional watercolor painting of trees on a blue-grey background. In the first picture, a set of watercolor paints and some brushes are also visible.]

Hey, folks!

I’ll shortly be headed out for a remote summer job. I’ll have periodic access to electricity and service, but for the most part, I’ll be off the grid! I’ll still be making traditional art (and posting when I can), but for the time being, digital commissions are closed. If you are interested in getting put on a waitlist, feel free to DM me, and I’ll put your name down!

Took a break from packing to paint a quick ocean! :)

Good morning everyone! ☀️

I am thrilled to announce that my short comic HEARTSONG has been published in the Santa Fe Writers Project’s quarterly issue, no. 25! This issue was made by and edited by LGBTQ+ writers, and is created around the theme of unmaking and remaking. If that sounds like your kinda thing, take a look at the pieces featured! :)

For something a little bit different, this is a “Draw In Your Style” challenge from @gawki! :) If you don’t know them already, go check out the original! They are an incredible artist with lots of cool prints and products available (I just bought a shirt from them a couple weeks ago!) & also have an ongoing “Death To The Pipelines” fundraiser up on their website! For more information on how to fight Line 3 & support indigenous water protectors, check out this link.

Rusalka, Lake Maiden, Kelpie, Selkie, Merrow, and Morgen - a little compilation of my water spirits series for mermay!

[ID: A series of six digital artworks, depicting various popular water spirit figures in mythology. The first is a rusalka holding a lantern, accompanied by a white swan. The second is a lake maiden with white cloth wrapped around her waist, holding a golden sword. The third is a kelpie with a horse skull headpiece, standing hip deep in murky water. The fourth is a selkie with curly red hair and a seal coat draped over her head. The fifth is a merrow watching a sunset, wearing a delicate pearly headpiece. The sixth is a morgen curled on a rock under a moonlight tide, wearing a glimmering seashell necklace.]

And that’s a wrap! :)

I think this photo study is about as finished as it’s going to get! Based on a still of Mariah Gale as Ophelia in the 2009 Hamletproduction.

[ID: A colorful drawing composition. Two hands hold melting butter, and another two hands hold knives at angles. A greater-bird-of-paradise is positioned over a rainbow burst. Colorful text reads “If I’m butter / then he’s a hot knife / he makes my heart a cinemascope screen / showing a dancing bird of paradise.”]

I just caught up on The Silt Verses so here’s some scribbly fanart
