Hi Sunflowerkru! It’s already well into June, and summer is just around the corner. I had the chance to go to a friend’s house this weekend, and to visit Lyon with them (the 2nd largest city in France), and I was delighted. I didn’t know the city, we went around and I discovered it with happiness.
The picture is a very good summary of my feeling: I am in admiration in front of the ancient theater of Lyon, at one of the windows of the museum of Antiquity.
A little sun and history are enough for my happiness ;-D.
This week our city’s football team had its first home game of the season and they turned it into a charity game called “Stand with Ukraine” night. For halftime over 200 students from the city’s Ukrainian bilingual programs sang Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, then we performed Ukraine’s national dance Hopak. It was a really cool experience and nice to visit with the kids after.
Now we get a couple of weeks off from performing and I’m immensely grateful .
Thank you @togetherkru for the tag! I’m glad that you got to enjoy a little trip and that you got to explore some really cool ancient architecture. I’m always floored by just how much history there is to see in Europe!
Summer has arrived in Sweden at last, and yet it kinda caught me by surprise. The first day of our trip to the archipelago started off rainy, but as we were there to enjoy the hotel’s spa (and supsequently get wet) it didn’t matter much. It was a beautiful location, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy the pool and sauna and to truly relax for a while. Even though it’s bittersweet that it was our last get-together as colleagues, I’m still glad we got the opportunity go to away like this. The rest of the weekend was spent doing another meditative activity: garden work and planting potatoes

I thought I should give a sign of life again, although my mood hasn’t improved throughout the last weeks. For some reason I can’t put my finger on I’m very depressive for quite a while now, can’t find real joy in anything or the enthusiasm to do anything - besides going to work of course. My holidays in september are still so far away… And the hormone pills I have to take (new ones since last week bc my body refused the first ones) are really taking a toll on me… The slightest cause and I start crying for no big reason. Sometimes… I feel very alone and lost these days. Is that what they call the midlife crisis? I don’t know… Anyway.. one babystep after the other… Seeing your posts every week really lightens my mood. And that counts for something, or not?
Steph, I love history and especially historical architecture too, so I totally get what you mean. Looks awesome there in Lyon.
Laurie, I think I would’ve started crying if I had been there, hearing all these people in the stadium singing THIS song. It’s such a beautiful idea!
Nina, wow… Your photos are holidays for my eyes. Could look at that view forever. How absolutely beautiful sweden is! I’m glad you enjoy your time there and had the chance to relax. And yes, even gardening and planting can be such a relaxing experience.
And now… I proudly present to you my little (and now finally FINALLY complete) The100-Funko!Pop-family! (Including Lexa with and without warpaint and Lincoln “normal” and as reaper, which was a limited edition once at SDCC). It was a long wish of mine to finally have all my fave characters (and characters that mattered to me in a way) together. I only wished that there’d be figures of Monty, Jasper and Murphy too. THAT would have been SO amazing. But these are all that had been produced back then. And now… sniff… they’re reunited. At least in my home.
A little hello to all of you, on this day of May when the temperatures are already too hot for the season…I don’t know how our Indian and Pakistani friends do with such high temperatures…Let’s hang on ! I don’t really have anything new to share this week. Spring is being a tease… The weather was really nice and it seemed like the snow was leaving really early this year— Then we had another cold snap. It was -23 when I drove home last night .
But on the bright side, I’ve finally been in the right headspace to do some writing again. The epilogue of my fic is almost ready and I’m hoping I should get it posted sometime this week. So in honour of that, here’s a picture that I took while I was in Bali waaaay too long ago. This was the first monkey I got to see, but thankfully not the last!
Stef, I love your gorgeous flowers and so wish it was time to see some here too. Also, your daffodils are such a nice sunny touch.

I just got home from tacos and margs with a couple friends to celebrate this amazing taco two-sday that also coincided with margarita day! The past couple days have actually been quite warm here for this time of year and I’ve so enjoyed it, but it’s about to drop back down again. Anyways, here’s a picture of how my friend did my hair for fun (literally did it in like 15 minutes) when we had a girls night this weekend!

I missed 2:22 on the first Twos-day this month, so I was determined to catch it today and I did haha. I had yesterday off of work and had a very productive long weekend doing projects around the house. So here’s a picture of my (clean) living room with the morning sunshine coming in that I thought looked particularly cozy.
Here’s a picture of a pretty sunrise at work and one of my plant filled living room I’m giving most of them away before we move so I’m trying to remember to take pictures while they’re still here. Otherwise there’s not much to report except snow and more snow and constant severe weather warnings.

I’ve just got back from work, it’s been a long and busy day, I almost forgot it was Tuesday. I don’t have any new pictures to show you, so I went back to my album from last winter to find some pictures from Auvergne, in central France. I’m going to go back in a few weeks, I can’t wait, it’ll be good to get out in the fresh air! And then this week was rich in emotions. Happy Tuesday to you all, I barely remembered that’s what it was, too. ;-) it’s already been a busy week and it doesn’t look like it’s gonna slow down. Heh, I even almost forgot that it’s my birthday in a couple of days ♀️
But hey, I have a picture for you, of a genuine archaeological dig, not that you could tell at the first glance. This is a spot right in front of out city hall and underneath that I<3Kalisz sign, there is a platform–and underneath that, a super-massive black hole
I live in the oldest city in Poland and a few years back, someone realised there used to be well there, of sorts. So they dug a big hole and once all the archaeologists creamed themselves after finding a few pottery shells down there, there was no way this could ever be filled again. Alas, no one knows what else to do with it either. So, we’re stuck with a big hole. And I really mean, BIG. Welcome to Poland.
I finally got my passport renewed (it was a whole process cause it was originally denied) and now I’m just ITCHING to go somewhere so here are a couple shots from when I got to go to london almost 10 years ago (how did all of that time pass??) I don’t really have too many life updates, but I absolutely love seeing y'all’s every week!
I took this picture at an overlook in between work appointments last week. It was a nice spot to take a breather during a busy day! (Personally, I’m partial to the black and white version because it better highlights the shapes of the tree branches, which are super cool.)

I hope everyone is well and my thoughts go straight to those who kindly picked up the torch last week @ninappon,@roguetwelve when I wasn’t in the best of spirits. And your messages made me feel so good, girls. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH !! You were absolutely right. The world can be a scary place sometimes, but we should always look ahead and think of the positives. As long as there is life there is hope.
So I won’t talk about Covid. (My husband is better.) I won’t talk about climate change. (My cherry tree is fine.) I won’t talk about the presidential elections in France. (let’s think about something else.) And although I won’t talk about war in Ukraine, I am thinking very hard about all those who are suffering and need help. Let us continue to support all those who need to be supported.
I have been limiting my social media recently, so it’s been a while since I participated. Thank you to everyone who continued to tag me despite my absence. Special thanks to @togetherkru for keeping BFSN going week after week.
My friend has some new baby goats at her farm that I got to cuddle with last week. This is Hermione and she has two brothers who are, of course, named Harry and Ron. I hope seeing her will brighten someone’s day!
If you’ve ever wondered what happens on stage after the curtain drops, my photo is pretty much your answer haha. We made it through the week of shows without a massive Covid outbreak! And now we have a couple of weeks to recover (and re-set… the guy on my back in the photo broke his foot mid show the next day ) before we start travelling. Time to take these fundraising efforts and our show of Ukrainian pride across Canada!
The outpouring of support that we received at these shows was so so heartwarming. There have been so many tears over the last few days - both in the audience and on stage. Our hearts are absolutely with the people of Ukraine, shown by the absolute roar each time the Ukrainian flag was brought on stage, giving us the boost we needed to get through the encore at the end of a very hard 2 hour show.
And another fun bonus photo to hopefully make you smile… Here’s what Charlie thought of me being gone all week. He stole my shoe pretty much the second I got home from the post show reception on Friday.
Stef - it’s bitterly cold and snowing here too, although that’s normal here for this time of year. And it’s supposed to warm up by the weekend. But I have total confidence that your cherry tree will persevere!
Kim - I’m pretty sure that goat just melted my heart. And the names are incredible
i’ve had a bit of a week, and it’s still going, but i haven’t fallen on my face just yet, so there’s still hope. there’s even a chance i’ll be able to take a few days off in a few weeks, so at least there’s some good news.
i also give you Spencer ‘helping’ today.

All the shared pictures have really brightened my week, so THANK YOU dear fam :) ☀️ winter returned with freezing temperatures and snow (not unexpected but still disappointing) for the last couple of weeks (thankfully it turned around again the other day) and along with that came some bad news concerning work so it hasn’t been the best of times. Maybe this is the push I need to find a better workplace where they actually value people above money Anyways, even with all that is going on around us, I still have hope that it’ll get better

I got to dress up for a friend’s birthday party this weekend I’ve never worn red like this and was so nervous but also felt pretty at the same time haha. We finally had beautiful weather on Sunday so I took a nice long walk to enjoy it!

Thanks for the tag Stef :) nasty colds are the worst, so I hope you feel better soon I’m glad you were able to go to that show before you fell ill, so you could soak up that positive energy. I really love those kinds of vibes you get from going to a really good concert!
It’s the middle of June already, how did that happen? I can’t believe how fast time passes when you’re an adult. I spent another weekend in the countryside, pulling weeds. Hopefully we’ll get some flowers planted soon, because the flowerbeds looks way too barren. Dad and I took a lil detour on our way there and got to view these sights:
Tonight, I have for you a handful of pics from my Saturday trip to Poznań, mostly from the Archeological Museum, which are only slightly illegally taken ;-)
I wish I could’ve taken more photos of the city because it’s quite nice looking, especially in the summer, but alas, it’s being dug up and repaved at the moment, so all you can see are holes in the ground
But the trip was a massive success, my friend and I had so much fun, that I can forgive a little inconvenience.

@ninappon I feel you, I have no clue where did the time go either. I certainly can’t remember any of the days so far ;-D
You all have such lovely pictures from interesting trips, but alas, I have nothing but more flowers. A close-up of my white peonies - probably my favorite perennial because I’m intrigued by how it starts so small every year and gets so big — plus some beautiful orange dahlias that my husband planted in our side garden. That’s not quite reached its full glory, so pictures of it in its entirety will have to wait for a bit. But my dogwood tree is almost ready for pictures. Maybe next week.
We haven’t done much so far this summer, and I’ve mostly bern sitting around writing fic. I’m a really slow writer, so getting 5-6k in good enough shape to post every Monday has taken up most of my free time. But my whole family is off to Maine the end of July, by which time the fic will be done, god willing!
But honestly, I don’t want to anticipate our vacation too eagerly because the summer goes by fast enough without me wishing the weeks away.

Hi Sunflowerkru! It’s already well into June, and summer is just around the corner. I had the chance to go to a friend’s house this weekend, and to visit Lyon with them (the 2nd largest city in France), and I was delighted. I didn’t know the city, we went around and I discovered it with happiness.
The picture is a very good summary of my feeling: I am in admiration in front of the ancient theater of Lyon, at one of the windows of the museum of Antiquity.
A little sun and history are enough for my happiness ;-D.
