Animal King is an actor, stuntman, and martial artist who is a master of capoeira, kobudo, and parkour. With Vivian, when she is not a kunoichi (female ninja), she is a marketing and art director. Congratulations to Chadwick Boseman, AfrAm, and his new fiance Taylor Simone Ledward, Japanese and AfrAm. Chadwick, of course, is the superstar AfrAm actor who will likely forever be known for playing T'Challa, in Black Panther! Indeed his acting credits run very deep and he has played many iconic figures including Jackie Robinson, James Brown, and Thurgood Marshall. Chadwick and Taylor have been dating since 2015 and while they typically keep a low profile, several outlets are now reporting their recent engagement and expected wedding in 2020! Say hello to Pastor Marcel Jonte Gadsden, AfrAm, and his wife, Chiaki Selah Gadsden, Japanese. Marcel is the pastor and founder of the Japan Kingdom Church in the Akishima section of Tokyo, Japan. The church started in 2016 with a bilingual service in both Japanese and English to accommodate both the Japanese and non-Japanese church members. Chiaki is also very active in Japan Kingdom Church as a co-founder and she manages many activities at the church. Trenton Doyle Hancock, African American, and his wife JooYoung Choi, Korean American, are both critically acclaimed American artists! Trenton makes prints, videos, drawings, sculptures, individual performances, and collaged felt paintings. He is well known for his artwork featuring the Mounds and the Vegans, two opposing forces that he created that represent the eternal battle between good and evil. Trenton has won numerous awards over the years and he was one of the youngest artists to ever be featured in the prestigious Whitney Biennial when he was selected in 2000 for the first time. His work has appeared in numerous exhibitions, storybooks, a mural at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, and even a ballet. JooYoung is equally talented with her artwork through paintings, video, sculpture, animation, music, and installation art multidisciplinary world-building. She is famous for creating a theme she calls the Cosmic Womb, which is semiautobiographical representing her experience as a Korean adoptee in the US. Her artwork has been shown globally in numerous exhibits and media outlets including the Asian Pacific American Experience, the National Museum of Mexican Art, and the Korean Global News Network. Alex Bannister, African American/Irish, is a former NFL wide receiver who played with the Seattle Seahawks from 2001 to 2005 and played with the Baltimore Ravens in 2006. In 2003, he was selected as an All-Pro and participated in the Pro-Bowl. After football, Alex and his wife, Joy Bannister, Filipina operated Lex Bannister Fitness which focused on high-intensity Sweat Camps, their own brand of fitness boot camps. Alex and Joy first met on a blind date in 2002 and they had a special connection from the very beginning. They married in 2009 and today have 2 kids together. Keith Thurman, AfrAm / White, professional boxer, and the former unified welterweight world champion from 2015 to 2019 is married to Priyana Thapa, Nepalese. Thurman is nicknamed “One Time” for his knockout power and is considered one of the hardest punchers in the welterweight division. As of July, 2019, Keith was 29-1 suffering his only loss in a split decision to Manny Pacquiao in their recent fight. Keith and Priyana first met in 2016 in a nightclub in Japan and were married in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2017. We wish Keith and Priyana a lifetime of love and happiness!

Say hello to Lyle, South African, and his wife, Suhyun, South Korean! Lyle and Suhyun are the founders of Genius English Camps which takes Asian students to Cape Town, New York, and Auckland to improve their English skills and give them a broader perspective of the world. The two of them met by chance following one of Lyle’s soccer games and they became good friends. They were actually friends for 1.5 years before they started dating! Today, they are coming up on their first year wedding anniversary and they couldn’t be happier! We wish Lyle and Suhyun continued success and abundant blessings!

Barry Jenkins, African American, and Lulu Wang, Chinese American, are one of today’s Hollywood power couples! Barry is an award-winning film director, producer, and screenwriter and is probably best known as the director and screenwriter of the 2016 Academy Award winning film, “Moonlight”, and the director, producer, and screenwriter of the 2018 film, “If Beale Street Could Talk”. Barry also directed the 5th episode of the Netflix series, “Dear White People”. Lulu was born in Beijing and moved to Miami, Florida with her family at the age of six. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English. Lulu directed and wrote her first feature-length movie in 2014, “Posthumuos”, and she also wrote and directed the critically acclaimed 2019 movie, “The Farewell” which did very well on the Asian Film Festival circuit and was released to general theaters in July of 2019. Barry and Lulu started dated quietly in 2018 and first started doing red carpets together in early 2019. We wish Barry and Lulu continued success and incredible happiness!

Malik Beasley, African American is a professional NBA player with the Denver Nuggets since 2016. Malik played one season of college basketball with Florida State before being drafted #19 in the 2016 NBA draft. Malik is also the grandson of the actor, John Beasley. Loving Day is named after the Loving family from Virginia who brought the lawsuit forward to the Supreme court. Huge congratulations to Peng Chen, Chinese American, and Michelle Morgan, Kenyan, on their recent wedding held in the Seychelles, an island country off the coast of Africa! Peng is a globetrotting entrepreneur who is currently the managing director and co-founder of the popular Alchemist restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya, and Michelle is formerly one of the top business news television anchors in Kenya. She has also been the television host for several sporting events in Africa and both Peng and Michelle are huge motorbike participants and fans. They met by chance in Kenya in 2013, were engaged in 2015 and just tied the knot after 6 years together in 2019! We wish them a lifetime of joy and happiness with eternal blessings!

Bee Nguyen, Vietnamese American, and his wife, TyLynn Nguyen, AfrAm, White, and Native American, are the cofounders of TyLynn Nguyen, a lingerie and women’s sleepwear fashion company based in Los Angeles. TyLynn, who studied fashion design in college and was previously a model, met Bee at a tradeshow in NYC and they had an instant spark at first sight. Bee, who once had aspirations of being the first Asian rapper is a marketing wizard with a strong business mind. After New York, they stayed in touch for 3 years before meeting up again in LA in 2010 and becoming inseparable as a couple. They married in 2011 and have 3 beautiful children together. Congrats to Aio Fukuda, AfrAm/Japanese and Yui Tanaka, Japanese, who are now dating after meeting on the popular Japanese reality show, Terrace House, on the most recent Opening New Doors season! Aio is a former Japanese professional soccer player and he is the 2nd Japanese Blasian to ever appear on Terrace House. Yui was a college student while on Terrace House and she just recently (2019) graduated from college in Japan! Terrace House is very similar to the old MTV The Real World and follows the day to day lives of 3 Japanese young men and 3 Japanese young women who all live in the same house. Harry Thomas, AfrAm, is the former US Ambassador to Bangladesh from 2007 to 2009, and the former US Ambassador to the Philippines from 2010 to 2013. Harry met his wife, Mithi Aquino, a former cruise line training leader during his time in the Philippines and they married in 2014, almost exactly 3 years after they first met. Harry and Mithi moved to Zimbabwe briefly when Harry became the US Ambassador to Zimbabwe from 2016 to 2018, but now Harry is looking forward to retiring from the US Foreign Service and enjoying life with Mithi in the US. Dianna says they waited a few years for Kyungho’s parents to realize that the couple was truly in love and that nothing would change that fact. Terrence Howard, multi-generational African / European American, announced his second engagement to his former wife, Mira Pak, Korean Canadian over the holiday. Terrence and Mira were first married in 2013 and then legally divorced 2 years later in 2015 with little explanation shortly after their first child was born. Even though they were divorced, they stayed together as a couple and welcomed a second child together in 2016. This will be Terrence’s 5th marriage and 3rd wife as he was married to his first wife 2 times as well. Terrence cemented the engagement with a huge 7-carat stunner ring. Terrence, who is now 50, says that it took him 45 years to find Mira, and he wants to spend the rest of eternity at her side! Mira is a former model and restaurant owner.
