I can’t find it rn but that post about Dennis Hooper’s enthusiastic identification with his character in Blue Velvet is funnier when taken in conjunction with the knowledge that he tried to get Peter Fonda to change his iconic outfit in Easy Rider to anything but collar to ankle all black leather because he looked to much like part of the gay leather kink subculture (which tbf Fonda claims was intentional).
