#bluejay
Dear —-,
I guess sometimes things get found at the wrong time. Words get lost along the way. I’m still sad we never said goodbye or thanked each other for it all. I did not reopen the letter. I don’t think it’s mine to open. It seems kind of beautiful that some love is left safe and sealed in an old blue envelope. The bluejay stamp is three years tattered. Who knows where it’s been, but I hope it finds you okay this time.

I sometimes forget that bluejays are, in fact, corvids and are extremely intelligent (while also being incredibly ornery). There’s a very smart blue-jay hopping around the trees behind my house right now that’s learned to mimic a red-tailed hawk.
i love seeing cardinals and bluejays together i’m always like “hehe.. evil siblings”
this is what i’m all about babyyyyy
They’re not even related. Jays are a type of corvid, like crows and magpies, and Cardinals are a grosbeak.
well you see, they are both birds and they both have fun hats. hope this helps
A whole lotta blue jays! It’s been a bumper year for these friends

I used Clip Studio Paint Ex to create this vector sketch. One thing I haven’t figured out is how to simplify the lines. That is to say, I want to remove some of the nodes to create smoother lines. I read on the Internet that there’s a way to do this, but this technique seems to be a well-hidden secret.
Next up, I’ll flat this image and put in some shadows.
Northern mockingbird, cardinal (bald), lark sparrow, blue jay
