#bracers
This happends to be my first Jeanne post, we decided a year or so ago to cosplay from Kamikaze kaito jeanne for the winter con but the con was one day shorter then usual so we had to cut it from our list and do it for now instead.
And damn this is the costume I’ve had ever had most trouble with, but anyway. here is a bracer tutorial.
First I wanted it to be whole, no visable opening but I gave up on that since it was a pain and I did not want to spend to much time on them.
First I wraped my wrist in plasticfoil and tape and drew out the shape. Cut it out and voila! A pattern.
I cut the patter out in craft foam a little bigger and tried that it fitted, you will need a bit longer since worbla. I bough a round tube that I cut appropriately and glued on.
I cut out a worbla piece that would cover both sides. I could not leave the back uncovered since it would be bumpy. (I tried)
After I put the worbla on I bent it to a round shape, put it on and formed it after my arm. This so that it would not turn, which it first did.
I cut the sides of a ping pong ball, each piece about 1/3 of the ball and painted it first with red paint and then a couple layers of nail polish to give it a more gem feeling.
I primed the bracers first with wood filler(which is great) I sanded and put on two layers gesso, just casue but it is harder to sand and they might have looked better before the gesso.
I used a gold spray paint which looks awesome and glued the “gems” on with hot glue. Tada! Could have done a better sanding job but I really did not want to.
