It’s unbelievable but true! You do not need to spend big bucks to experience Japan. You can visit Japan, ex-India with less than 60K per passenger. All you need is careful planning and plan your trip with GhumoJapan team who will assist you with all that on a platter
Few tips that you can keep in mind for a budget travel.
1. When to travel :
There are specific holiday weeks designated in Japan like golden week, silver week, summer (bon festival) etc. where most of the schools and offices remain closed. So if you avoid these specific periods, you can drastically reduce the travel cost and also avoid overcrowded places.
2. Which travel passes you take:
There are different kinds of attractive travel passes available in Japan. Not all the passes that exist really provide you with a good deal. Once you figure out the best pass which suits your itinerary you can make really good savings. Care for an unlimited bullet train ride at the cost of a single journey? That does sound like a dream come true doesn’t it?
3. Where hotels to stay:
If you try to search by yourself, you would get the regular recommendations on the major BnBs and accommodation booking websites which may not be very cost effective most of the times but there are some secrets you can know here too. If you know a local, he could introduce you to beautiful pension houses, ryokans (Japanese style hotels) and lot many other wide range of options. These are not only way lighter on your budget, but will also give you a true authentic Japanese flavor.
4. Places to eat:
There are a wide variety of cheaper options available. There are convenience stores which are open 24hours a day and have good number of inexpensive food options. You can get inexpensive bentou (lunch boxes) which are healthy too. With the right information, you can find good options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian at decent prices.
Liquor tends to be very cheap in Japan compared to other places and quite easily available in convenience stores and supermarkets. It’s even cheaper in some select shops, all you need is a little guidance. This is just the start, there are a lot more secrets that you can uncover in Japan. It’s time to change the myths surrounding cost and enjoy Japan well within your budget.
